Pre-Order Pondering….Neon Nike Air Max 1

Yep, I’m still in sneaker shopping mode. In the past couple of months, I’ve acquired 2 pair of Air Max 95 and the much sought after white cement IV Jordans. This doesn’t even include the pair of my sneakers I bought for my newly minted ex.

I’m really into Air Max, right now, preferably the ’87, ’94, and ’95 styles. They are chic, classic, and super comfy.

Neon is going to be HUGE this spring and summer. You can tell that just by walking around the clothing department of any store and take notice of all the neon colors on everything from tanks to shoes. I’ve always been a fan of neon during spring, usually neon pink nails and accessories. However, I’m all about neon green and yellow this season. So, when I saw that Nike is going to release some neon yellow Air Max ’87 this April, I pretty much broke out a dougie in my computer chair.

The Air Max 1 a.k.a Air MAx ’87 has a neon yellow canvas upper with white and cooll grey sole. They are scheduled to be released in April 2012 and I want a pair so bad that I’m actually thinking about pre-ordering them from Crooked Tongues.

Trends in Womens Sandals

Sandals have been in existence for a very long time. The oldest sandals – indeed, the oldest footgear – to be found are made of sagebrush bark, and estimated to be 10,000 years old. Sandals began as plain flats made of leather, straw, rubber, rope, or wood, attached to the feet by cords. They were originally worn for comfort, lightness, and air circulation, as they exposed most of the foot and toes. Over the centuries, they have evolved through many modifications and design changes.

Womens sandals, in particular, have become fashion statements, with a great variety of styles, colors, and heel heights. They are seen around the pool, in the office, and at the most elegant parties. Today’s sandals may feature polyester straps for quick drying, traction soles for walking, or glitter for sparkling. Many contemporary womens sandals are detailed with a wedge heel for a polished, leg-lengthening look.

One handsome modern design is Packpunch Wedge Sandals from Nine West. This women’s wedge sandal, available in black or cognac (brown), features wide, straight leather straps across the toes and ankles. A stacked 2” heel and back zip closure complete the look. The refined cut of the Packpunch Wedge Sandals will complement many outfits, and look right during the day and through an evening event.

Cute? or Cute!

I’m getting my life back together after a couple of crazy weeks that included a breakup of a relationship/friendship and a outbreak of the flu among my group of friends. However, there’s no time like the present then to get back on the horse and that includes shopping for spring.

The weather was too nice this weekend to not go ahead and start spotting and scooping pieces to build a lustworthy spring wardrobe. One trend that want to try and embrace it colorblocked pieces, not just color blocking, all together. I saw these color blocked shoes by Boutique 9 and was instantly drawn in my the color combo of navy and coral. However, I’m not sure if I like them or not. Crazy. On the fence. What do you think?

Lust-Have List: February 2012

February snucked up on me, hence the this list being tardy. Nonetheless, here is the list of things I’m lusting for this month of love.

  1. DV by Dolce Vita Tulle Sandals, $79, Piperlime – This bi-polar weather washing over the country has me looking and lusting for sandals earlier than usual. I mean, Valentine’s Day hasn’t even showed up, yet! These classic brown espadrille wedges would look perfect for spring and summer, even though it’s still technically winter. *rolls eyes*
  2. Flip Flop Fantasy Nail Polish, $8, China Glaze – This is the polish currently on my nails that I picked out at the salon this past weekend to go over my gel overlay. It’s bright , almost florescent coral and I’m so in love with it to the point that I think this will be my staple color this spring and summer. Sorry, neon pink. 🙁
  3. Parker Navajo Print Sequin Jacket, $418, Piperlime – So beautiful! I’m not even into Navajo print, because I can’t really pull off “bold and colorful” prints, at times. However, I would love to have this jacket to throw over all black ensembles, which I’ve been frequently slugging out and about in.
  4. Gorjana Fremont Bracelet, $50, ShopBop.com – Simple and chic and I love the mixing of the media. Love!
  5. Steven by Steve Madden ‘France’ Leather Tote, $198, Nordstrom – It’s a big blue tote. I already love it! Plus, it has clean lines and minimal details. Pretty fabulous and I need it.
