New Year = New Shoes!

Okay, this might be so hard to believe considering I run a couple of fashion blogs, but in the past year, I haven’t done much shopping.

Don’t get it twisted, I have copped a couple of things here and there, but not as much as I have in past years. The main reason is because earlier this year, I moved into a new apartment of my own with no roommate. So, I found myself hitting the home decor aisles and sections way more than the clothing and accessories rack.

However, now that my place is pretty much set, in the upcoming year I plan to devote more time and attention to re-stocking my closet. Fortunately, Santa gifted me with plenty of gift cards this season! Just what I wanted!

One of the first gift cards I plan to drain is one valued at $50 that my brother’s girlfriend(Smooches, Tess!) dropped in my stocking. The first thing I grabbed with it are these Lace Allure booties. Obviously, these are a soft knock-off of Louboutins, but I so can’t wait for these to arrive next week!

Jessica Szohr covers Teen Vogue

I love Jessica Szohr! See’s definitely a nice calmness to the dram filled Gossip Girl. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to get into GG this season. So, I will start playing  catch-up in the next couple of weeks. Shh, don’t spoil it for me!

However, in the meantime, check out Miss Szohr on the February cover of Teen Vogue. The issue hits stands on January 9th.

Kourtney Kardashian was a stylish pregnant!!

One of my best friends from college is expecting her first child and, in her mind, claims she  is running out of cute clothes to wear due to her expanding belly filled with breathing love. This weekend, while engaging in a little last minute shopping, we had a friendly debate about being stylishly pregnant on a budget. She swore me up, down, and all around that once you hit a certain weight and physical state  in your pregnancy that it becomes really hard to be cute and comfortable that doesn’t involve sneaking your significant others sweats.

Although, I’ve never been pregnant and don’t plan to, I couldn’t help but disagree! I mean, I’ve seen countless stylish pregnant women embracing their pregnancy without embracing their husbands sweats. One of the most recent examples I threw her way as we were sipping our white hot chocolate was Kourtney Kardashain.

Kourtney just released her little Mason Dash a couple of weeks ago, but  candids and photos of her in the later months of pregnancy were fly! As I was gathering photos as examples to email to my friend, I couldn’t help but notice that Kourtney seemed to have a formula for pregnancy style.

Leggings + tunics + tall flat boots = Casual Comfort Chic

Easy, comfortable, and anyone, no matter pregnant or not, can pull this off! Personally, this is the fashion equation I’ve been using for the past couple of weekend to combat winter air and weekend errands.

Now, just because Miss Kardashian was con nino, didn’t mean that she didn’t have the chance to strut (or waddle) down some red carpet events. For red carpet events, her fashion equations was mini dress + simple high heels = preggers sexy.

I mean, the photos of her on the red carpet included her showing her still sexy side with her bare legs, but also showing her growing belly behind a pretty mini cocktail dress. Loved it!

I’m not sure if I’ll ever have to deal with dressing for pregnant belly, but if I do, Kourtney Kardashian is definitely going to be one of my references.

See more of Miss Kardashians “pretty pregnant” looks on E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians every Sunday night!m On last night’s episode, she wore this printed silk tunic that I think I need to hunt down.

Swooning for…The Hagen Sunglasses

This weekend in Memphis I was able to wrap up my Christmas shopping, but with a forecast full of those mean gray clouds and cold air. However, today is a new day and the sun is beaming down on me from my office window. I even had the chance to break out my good ol’ Latina Dior shades.

In terms of sunglasses, I tend to to stick to large square or rectangular sunnies that don’t wrap and are completely black or dark brown. My BF teases me about my “big glasses”, but he can kick rocks in barefeet, because I love big, dark shades. After typing that, I guess you might be slightly confused as to why I am swooning over these aviator pink/purple gradient shades by The Mosley Tribe. Well, I’m confused, too. Still….I WANT THESE SHADES!!

I will admit, that I know these shades’ shape aren’t meant for my round face and the color fits nowhere in my winter wardrobe color scheme, but I think I can make them work.

On second thought, hold off warm weather!

After giving myself a pedicure last night, I was wishing that the warm, sunny weather was back so I could show off my lovely shaped hot pink toes! However, after seeing these hot Louboutin Bobo booties, I think I want the cold weather to stay. Well, stay until these shoes are knocked-off by another line. *fingers crossed*

In the meantime, I’m just loving the tan and white, which makes it appropriate for spring, too! Plus, seriously, how can you not swoon for the leather pyramid studs?!

Come on Steve Madden or whoever, and make the knock offs, already, because my bank account can’t take a $1,395 punch right now!
