I’m a firm fan of products that make it quicker and easier to do everyday tasks such as washing my face at the end of the day. I do love when I have the time and energy to double cleanse my skin. However, lazy girl beauty products like cleansing sticks and oils are clutch to when time is scarce. One product that seems to fall into this category is Neutrogena’s new Hydro Boost cleansing gel.
Neutrogena has had a pretty good relationship with my skin. However, this was the first product that I’ve tried from their Hydro Boost line. What sold me on trying this cleansing gel is the claims that it boost hydration for skin and effectively removes makeup and other skin impurities. Plus, it’s a gel formula and has hyaluronic acid, which is good for hydrating skin. So, I couldn’t wait to put it to the test and share my results with you.
To use this cleansing gel, first you wet your face and pump some of the gel into your hands. Afterwards, add some water to your hands and rub together to create a lather. Next, gently massage it on your face to wash and then thoroughly rinse. After using it, I noticed that it did a pretty thorough job cleaning my skin and removing my makeup. Yes, you can use this to remove your eye makeup, as well. It didn’t even irritate my sensitive eyes. However, depending on your eye makeup’s formula, you might need to use an eye makeup remover to completely remove that stubborn mascara and eyeliner. My waterproof mascara put a fight. So, I had to reach for my Lancome’ eye makeup remover.
Like I mentioned, one of the things that lured me to try this cleanser is that it’s supposed to be hydrating. Unfortunately, for me, my skin actually felt “stripped” after using this product. My skin didn’t feel dry, though, which I guess is a good thing. I guess I was just a little thrown back, because some variation of “hydration” is all over the bottle. However, my skin did feel soft and supple after using it.
In the end, I really do love this Hydro Boost cleansing gel. It’s does a good job quickly cleaning my skin, leaves my skin feeling super soft, and didn’t irritate my skin at all.
