SPRING SHOES EDIT 2017

Yes, I know Spring isn’t here, yet. However, with all these warm sunny days we’ve been experiencing, it’s hard to not start thinking about Spring. Better yet, it’s hard to not start thinking about the things we want to wear this spring. As usual, I’ve started my seasonal style preparations by pinpointing the shoes I’m wanting this season. In order to create the perfect spring shoes edit, you have to narrow down where you will be wearing said shoes. Fortunately, for me, the places I go the most don’t require a professional dress code. So, my shoe edit is casual, but has has some chic elements to make them work-friendly, as well.

Since, I’m mostly at work, the first shoe that I want for spring is nude platform oxford. So, these platform bluchers from Zara are perfect and I love the detachable fringe. Unfortunately, these are currently sold out, but I’m on the waiting list for updates on their restocking.

Last year, I really got back into sneakers. So, needless to say, I have to have a sneaker option. Actually, I have two sneaker options; an athletic option and casual option. The Nike Air Max 90 has always been my favorite Nike sneaker, because the style is very classic. Nike recently released a Air Max 90 flyknit version, which makes them more lightweight and flexible. Although they are available in different colorway, the black and white pair are more versatile and chicer, in my opinion.

Like I mentioned, I work in a very casual office environment that allows me to wear almost anything I want, including sneakers. However, I still try to wear office-friendly sneakers, like these platform sneakers by Puma. They are available in nude or black, but I’m fond of the natural ones. I feel I could wear these with anything and anywhere. Also, they are very reminiscent of the Fenty x Puma, Puma’s collaboration with Rihanna, that sell out instantly.

Speaking of Rihanna’s collaboration with Puma. Last year when they released fur covered slides, it was hard to get your hand on a pair, because they would sell out in a snap. A lot of brands took notice and began releasing their own fur slides, including Steve Madden. Steve Madden fur slides in different fun colors and prints, but I’m all about these leopard print ones. Leopard print is the perfect mix of fun and classic. This will be a great weekend shoe to wear while running errands or chilling with your friends.

Every season, you need to have a good statement shoe. For spring, I want a statement shoe with applique, like this applique mule from Aldo.  It gives off some retro 70s vibe with floral design, but the design is sleek and effortless. I could definitely see myself wobbling around the office in these. 🙂

Now that I sit back and look, apparently I’m into neutral color shoes this season. Aye, you can’t go wrong with that, in my opinion.
