Make-Up Monday…Draw The Line kit

Sephora supplies some of the best kits! I mean, if there is a beauty trend, product, or need you have, they probably have a kit filled with items to help, usually from multiple brands. Fab.

Their new Draw The Line Eyeliner sampler features some of Sephora and cult favorite black eyeliners, including Make Up Forever’s Waterproof Aqua Eyes liner in Mat Black and Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper.

The reason I’m all about this kit is because as of the past couple of weeks, I’ve been all about just having liner on my eyes and no eyeshadow. It’s my new beauty love! Full brows and full lashes lined with a sick cat eyeliner. Oh…it’s fabulous for fall and for only $28 for the whole kit! Nice.

LUST-HAVE LIST: September 2012

New month. New season. New needs. New wants. Yep, that what September is all about to me, PLUS, it’s my birthday month!

I’m so happy that it’s FINALLY getting cooler outside and I can reach for cardigans, denim jackets, and layering scarves! I love Fall fashions! So, here are a list of some things that I lusting for in September and would also make great birthday gifts…hint, hint!

  1. Chiffon Double-Layered Skirt, $42, American Apparel – Cute skirt! Although the skirt is made of chiffon, it makes a great layering and transitional  piece. Imagine pairing this skirt with some brown tights and boots, a cream top, and denim jacket? Sounds fab, right?!
  2. MICHAEL Michael Kors Silk Top, $175, Net-A-Porter – Such a lovely way to switch out summer tees into chic tops. A casual shape with a luxe feel and look!
  3. Dooney & Bourke ‘Pocket’ Shopper, $198, Nordstrom – This tote is HUGE! It has all the roominess you need in tote this fall to carry all your essentials, including books and makeup. Let us not forget about the outside. The bag is made of durable nylon and accented with Dooney & Bourke’s grained leather, which I love, and the bright red lining!
  4. Cecelia Wedge Booties, $130, Aldo – What is about wedges that scream “Fall” to me? I don’t know, but a pair of wedge nuetral color wedge booties are just what my shoe closet needs this season. They go with almost every casual fall look your closet can cough up and office ‘fits, too!
  5. Lancome Artliner in Aubergine, $29.50, Sephora – Hands down, Lancome’s Artliner is my FAVORITE liquid liner! It’s goes on smooth and stays on all  day, with virtually no smudging…unless my allergies in the mood to create a tear fest. Anyway, I love my Artliner in Noir (black) and I need to go buy another one, because I just ran out. While I’m buying that one, I need to grab it’s burgundy red sister, Aubergine. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been straying away from eyeshadows and have opted to just wear mascara and occasionally a swipe of liner. This liner would be a nice in between, for the days when I want a little extra something, but not too noticeable. The deep red is fall friendly and would work with most skintones.
  6. Shrunken Blazer, $110, TopShop – Fall is the official kick-off of blazer season and I think it’s safe to say that shrunken blazers aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. This peach blazer from TopShop will add a touch of softness to the darker colors of fall, especially when paired with some dark wash jeans, scarf, and brown boots.

And that’s that!

Lust-Have List: March 2012

This year seems to be moving along pretty quick and breezy, which just happens to be the way I plan to dress this spring. The weather here in Memphis is already warming up. Today, the record high was broken for this day atn 82 degrees…before noon! Anyway, here are some pieces that I would love to have and incorporate in my breezy, but chic spring wardrobe.

  1. Lovely Peach Dress, $46,Lulu’s – Although neon is going to be huge this season, they’re not for everyone and the spring staple of pastels might be too blah and boring. Well, sorbet colors are nice middle ground, because they have just the right amount of boldness, but with a softness that is spring appropriate. This peachy dress from Lulu’s is so pretty and light and would be a dream piece to have in any spring wardrobe. I love the pleats!
  2. T-Shirt with Leather Details, $29.90, Zara – I love white, thin, and slouchy tees, especially in the hotter months. However, I’ve been looking for one with leather details and low and behold I found one while browsing Zara’a website. It has everything I want and will look amazing paired with solid and colorful jeans this season. I’m so excited to find this!
  3. NARS Wicked Attraction Set, $45, Sephora – My face! This has all the things that you make a nice, light, and dewy spring face, including NARS cult fav duo blush and bronzer duo of Orgasm and Laguna.
  4. Lulu Frost Lighthouse Ring, $156, Shopbop.com – I’ve been feening for one of these long, extension style rings for a while and this one by Lulu Frost is so pretty. The blush colored pink stone and shiny gold contrast is lovely and would work with any and every skin tone.
  5. Sam Edelman ‘Yelena’ Sandal, $139.95, Nordstrom – You need a pair of go-to, goes-with-almost-everything-in your-spring-wardrobe pair of shoes and these Sam Edelman slingback sandals are perfect for me. I love the wide bronze straps the nubuck saddle brown leather. Love them. Want them.

Holiday Gift Guide 2011: Make-Up-holics

Make-up enthusiasts are not necessarily the easiest people to shop for, despite what you think. The reason I say this, is because they already tend to have enough. However, there are ALWAYS some things that every make-up junkie would love to have this season and here are a few.

  • A. Tracy Reese for Clinique gift, Free with purchase, Nordstrom – Okay, so you can only get this if you buy $25 worth of Clinique products. However, Clinique makes amazing products and that would not be a waste, plus this Tracy Reese gift is worth the buy. It features some of Clinique’s best and favorite items, plus it comes with 2 makeup bags designed by Tracy Reese!
  • B. Sephora Collection Brush Wand, $10, Sephora – Just when you thought carrying makeup brushes couldn’t get any more compact, Sephora releases their brush wand. The Brush Wand features four detachable eye brushes that stack into a wand shape. So, the need to touch up your eye makeup anywhere just got a lot easier. Not to mention, I’ve heard that the quality of the brushes are pretty good considering how small they are.
  • C. Viva Glam Melt Your Heart Lip Bag, $36, MAC – Cute bag to have, but it’s what comes in the bag that is amazing. This Viva Glam bag comes with BOTH of Lady Gaga Viva Glam lipsticks. Yes, those lipsticks that seemed to sell out at every MAC counter before you could reach for your wallet and were limited edition, which means once they were gone, there were gone. Well, the geniuses over at MAC decided to release them in a holiday packaging for a limited time only. As the lovely guy working at my MAC counter pointed out while rocking some patent leather kitten heel mary janes, once this is sold out, “Gaga is gone for good!”, because they already have their next Viva Glam ambassadors in Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin. So, if you are still beating yourself upside the head for not getting just one more tube of the Viva Gaga lipsticks, here is your FINAL CHANCE!
