Velvet Shoes To Kill The Game This Fall

It’s been damp and rainy these past couple of days and the last thing I should be thinking about are velvet shoes. However, that’s all I’ve been thinking about, because it’s one of my favorite shoe trends for fall. Also, a couple of weeks ago, I scored a pair of pink velvet flats on clearance from Target for less than $8. They are, hands down, one of my proudest purchases this summer. So, no matter how impractical they are on rainy days, all I want is velvet shoes. Not to mention, velvet is a must-have fabric for fall and winter.

Currently, I only have the one pair of velvet shoes, but I know I need at least a velvet pump and maybe a velvet bootie. Do I need a velvet sneaker of some sort? Ugh, too many possibilities. Keep reading to see some of my favorite picks of velvet pairs of shoes.

velvet shoes blue OTK boots from Zara

I just had to start these list with these blue velvet over-the-knee boots from Zara. They are fabulous and chic! The deep royal blue shade doesn’t make them look to costume-y, which can happen with some colored OTK boots. Not to mention, they are under $70. Seriously. Plus, the shaft is stretchy, which my fellow thick leg ladies will appreciate.

velvet d'orsay flats

Did I ever tell ya’ll that I have a thing for blue velvet shoe? Well, I do. So, I’m following up the blue velvet OTK boots with this pair of embellished D’orsay velvet flats. The embellished details makes them a little fancy, but too fancy that you couldn’t wear these to work. Also, you could use these to add a little sparkle to a boyfriends jeans and tee outfit situation.

mauve velvet pumps from Sam Edelman

A pretty pink pump with embossed design? Yes, please! These mauve velvet pumps from Sam Edelman are pretty dreamy. The deep mauve-y wine hue is perfect for fall and the embossed detail adds a nice luxe feel.

Velvet Lace-Up booties

Lace-up booties are my shoe jam in the fall, especially my combat boots. However, a chic and dressy lace-up velvet bootie is a win and this pair from Zara look so beautiful. The lace-up detail is very whimsical without a shoe tongue and the subtle gold tips on the laces is lovely. Like with these booties and the Edelman pumps, I love that rounded toes and heavy heels are coming back. It’s hard to balance all of this on stilettos. 🙂
