EMPTIES: Last of 2024
The last couple month of 2024, I tried to use up as many products I could.
When it comes to serums for acne, the Juice Beauty Acne serum needs to be talked about more. This serum has salicylic acid to help exfoliate and clear out clogged pores, but also ingredients to help hydrate the skin. I had this is my arsenal of skincare products, but rarely reached for it. However, my skin was breaking like crazy due to holiday stress and this always helped my skin get back to normal. I need to get another bottle, because it came in clutch.
The Morphe Bake & Set setting powder is as nice go-to translucent powder to keep around. It’s lightweight and sets makeup nicely and blur like results. This is the regular shade, it also comes in 5 other shades. I think I’m going to try the Rich Banana shade next, because it looks like it will go better with my complexion.
I heard so many great things about the One/Size Dawn Setting Spray, which made have to try it. This setting spray claimed to keep makeup in place for up to 16 hours, which it did. However, I was hoping that it would help prevent my makeup from transferring. It did, but only if I dabbed my makeup first with paper towel to remove any excess oil from my makeup. Also, that had to be the only setting spray I used. No, when I would use a second setting spray that’s supposed to makeup look dewy, my makeup wouldn’t set properly. I did buy another can in the regular size, because it really is a good setting spray when used correctly.
I’ve used the Strivectin Super-C Retinol serum a few times in the past and I always love the results. This serum contains Vitamin C and retinol, which makes your skin look smooth and bright. I have to say that this is a little pricey, but the overall results more than make up for it. When I ran out of this serum, I picked up this Artnaturals Vitamin C serum from Target to tide me over. We need to use vitamin C every day to help keep our skin looking bright and helps with hyperpigmentation.
Lume and I have a very love/ hate relationship. The product is amazing at preventing body odor, but the scents sometimes smell like body odor. However, my best friend loved and highly recommended I try the Toasted Coconut scent. I must admit, this is the perfect scent for this product and will be my go-to scent from Lume.
I feel like I was one of the last people on earth to try the Fenty Pro Filt’r foundation. Now, I see what the hype was about, because this a fabulous foundation. This foundation gives the perfect soft matte finish and long lasting. Once I run out of the foundation I’m currently using, I will pick this up again.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid toner is one of those products that became weird multi-use product. Although, this is toner to provide exfoliation, I also started using it to help with sweating and body odor. I also used it to spot treat for body acne. This is definitely a product I will keep in my bathroom for years to come.
Remember when I discussing how the one/size setting spray did transfer? I attributed that happening when I paired it with another spray – this is said spray. The ELF Power Grip setting spray does a fabulous job at making your makeup look dewy while setting. I will keep buying this but being mindful of not mixing it with other sprays. lol
My skin started getting really dry a few months ago and remembered that I was out of hyaluronic acid. I decided to finally try Good Molecules and test out their version. If I’m going to be honest, so far I think all hyaluronic acid serums are basically the same. However, if you know a brand that you think is better, let me know! We don’t gatekeep around her!
