TREND WATCH: Printed Coordinates

TREND_2_piece_prints_main

One of the biggest style trends that is taking over runways and sidewalks is matching coordinates. From matching printed tees and shorts to bandeau tops and flowing skirts, the trend and style is everywhere.

I haven’t participated in wearing matching prints since my mom used to buy me two piece shirt sets when I was in elementary school. However, I’m more than tempted try it out. If you are, here are some suggestions down below.

LUST-HAVE LIST: July 2013

LHL_july2013

I had an amazing June filled with fun times with family and friends and July is looking like its going to be just as fun.

Here are the things that I’m lusting for this month.

  1. Nike ‘Air Revolution Sky Hi’ Sneaker, $150, Nordstrom – I guess the hidden wedge sneaker trend isn’t dying down any soon and I’m more than happy with that, because I’m loving it as much as I’m loving these female wedged version of the classic Nike Air Revolution.
  2. MCM Liz Reversible Canvas and Leather Tote, $510, Saks.com – I’ve been wanting an MCM bag since…well the 80s when they were all the rage. Now that they have made a comeback in the past couple of years, I’ve been wanting one even more now. I love this one because it’s reversible. One side is the classic leather monogram, but the other side is a fun canvas print with the MCM logo in purple graffiti!
  3. Femme Spear Bangle, $19.99, JewelMint – A very subtle gold bangle is all I’ve been wishing I had last week while getting for work. I’m still in awe that I don’t have one…yet. I ordered this one and I can’t wait for it to arrive already!
  4. Marc Jacobs Honey Perfume, $72, exclusively at Sephora – I’ve yet to find a Marc Jacobs scent that I didn’t love and that statement still holds true, because I love the soft scent of the latest from Marc Jacobs perfumes. Seriously, it makes me invision me laying in a field on sunny Saturday afternoon as the sun is about to set. I’m so visual. lol
  5. Karl Lagerfield + Tokidoki Crystal Embellished Tee, $110, exclusively at Net-A-Porter – It’s a Karl Lagerfield tee by Tokidoki and it’s exclusive for Net-A-Porter. Need I type more?

My Summer 2013 Clean Team

Clean_team_sum2013

Clean skin is must-have for everyone. However, in the summer, I find myself becoming more obsessed with making sure my face is clean and fresh.

This summer, I’m all about clean and fresh skin WHILE using the least amount of products and steps as possible. So, here are my simple steps and products in my skin care cleansing routine.

  • Target Eye Make-Up Remover – Although I hardly wear, if any, any eyeshadow in the summer, I’m a major fan of mascara and liquid liner all year. So, a good eye makeup remover is so neccessary. Target’s Up and Up brand has a really lovely and gentle remover that effortlessly wipes away all the melted goop your eyes have at the end of a hot work day.
  • Pond’s Cold Cream – What? You don’t have a cold cream? You should, because they are pretty amazing. The one I use from Pond’s loosens and removes the foundation, blush, concealer and all the brow powder that I put on in the morning, but has gathered in a pool of oil in my pores on my face at the end of the day. Also, it’s very moisturizing.
  • Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Wipes – Skincare staple. These are great. I keep a pack in my purse for those makeup-free days and need to wipe away sweat and dirt off my skin while refreshing my skin. Also, I use them to give my skin one final wipe to make sure that all the makeup has been removed.
  • Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser – Hands down, the best cleanser for all skin types. Ask any dermatologist. It’s gentle and doesn’t strip your skin. I use this day and night. Its the final cleanse I do. It’s the supervisor for the rest of the cleaning steps.
  • Aveeno Positive Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads – This is my morning cleaner. Wet my face, wipe face when the exfoliating side of the wipe, then the smooth side, and finally rinse my face. My face feels so clean, fresh, and smooth afterwards.
  • Simple Soothing Facial Toner – Toner is probably one of the most important, but overlooked step in skincare routines. I use to use products that contained some form of acne treatment before I realized that it was horribly stripping and drying out my skin. Therefore, I set out to find a gentle toner and then entered Simple’s soothing toner. It calms, softens, and soothes the skin. Perfection.

After cleansing my face, I apply a lightweight moisturizer for the day and pure shea or cocoa butter at night. Also, when needed, a spot treatment. This routine/regimen has been working wonderfully and quickly gets me to the nearest cool and air-conditioned spot.

Lip Love…M.A.C Lady Danger

MAC_lady_danger

This is just a brief but worthy ode to the newest love of my lip life, M.A.C’s Lady Danger.

We accidentally met when I went to my local MAC counter and saw this vibrant matte orangey red shade that was accidentally sent to that counter. It provides a nice pop of color during those hot summer days and nights.

M.A.Cs Lady Danger is one of their classic shades and I feel should be in all lipstick collections. Love it!

Free People’s ‘Sacred Geometry’ Lookbook

FP_sacred+geo_main

I’m really feeling Free People’s Sacred  Geometry lookbook with a boho-chic looks featuring pairs linear elements and cutouts with easy layering.

Delicate details and beautiful silhouettes softly pile on top of one another giving dimension and interest. Combined with edgy jewelry, geometric prints, and drippy harem pants, softer styles take on an edgier look.

See the rest of the looks after the jump.
