It’s finally my second favorite season; Spring! My favorite part of spring is the weather that starts off cool, bur5 eventually warms up to pleasant sunny day. Unfortunately, that pesky groundhog may have been right, because Winter weather is still lingering. However, I peeped the forecast, and the weather is supposed to be warm and sunny – just how I like it.

Although I’ve been wanting to start shopping for spring, it’s been hard to get in the spirit with cold and cloudy weather. Thankfully, the hope that that’s about to change has motivated me to start filling my online shopping carts. However, I want to start with getting pieces for my go-to look for spring – my seasonal spring uniform.

When I think of a seasonal uniform, I think more about the silhouette with pieces that you can interchange. Using the same shape but with different colors and textures give you more style options. This spring, I want to be all about the easy, casual and chic of jeans, oversized button up blouse with textured accessories.

On that note, here is the what I want my spring uniform to be for 2023.

  • Distressed Bell Bottoms – I’ve been wanting a pair of bell bottoms for a while and I’m loving the distress of this pair.
  • Button-down Striped Poplin Shirt – You can ever go wrong with too many loose button ups, because can dress them up or down. Plus, so many colors and design, but I always fancy vertical stripe ones.
  • Large Woven Satchel – I’m obsessed with this bag and it was so close to being on my next LHL post, but it’s my dream spring bag, at the moment.
  • Mixed Media Bracelet Stack -Recently, I’ve started to want to bring bracelet stacks back into my daily wear. I love that this bracelet gives the look of stacks, but it’s only one piece.

SPRING TREND: Tenniscore

Finally, Winter is beginning to wrap up and leave. Therefore, it’s time to start thinking about the visual vibes for Spring. For the past few seasons, there have been different core style trends and I thinking of tenniscore this year. Take a walk with me so that we can talk about Tenniscore for spring agan, this year.

TREND WATCHL Tenniscore | STAINED COUTURE

What is tenniscore, you may ask? Well, it’s just fashion that have elements of traditional styles worn my tennis players. Think short a-line skorts and preppy accessories – very leisure housewife. Have you ever stopped in a Target or fancy store in the middle of the day on weekday? Well, have you seen a woman dressed in tennis gear while casually walking around shopping? Yeah, they embody tenniscore, which is wearing fashion associated with playing tennis in everyday activities.

I’ve found a few pieces that exude Tenniscore and that you can easily add in and out of your regular warm weather warbrobe. Keep reading to find out more and where you can buy these pieces.

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2023 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy New Year! How has 2023 been treating you so far? Hopefully it has started off good for you. So far, so good for me! After this week, I will be back in the swing of things. Having 2 short work weeks/ long weekends throw me off. Still, it’s been good and full of optimism, which is good.

I had a great holiday season, which actually included a semi-white Christmas. I can’t recall the last time there was snow on the ground for Christmas in my city. The actual snow day was horrible, but the results were pretty. I guess you can I broke even.

Recently, I realized that my January Lust-Have List is mostly things I should’ve asked to get for Christmas, but didn’t. What an ultimate face in palm moment?! Still, here is the list of things that are currently at the top of my monthly wishlist.

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2023

  • Down Alternative Mattress Pad – I’m about one more year away from buying a new mattress. So, in the mean time, I think this mattress pad will make the bed feel a little more comfy and cozy.
  • Crop Straight Leg Grey Denim – I’m on the hunt for a pair of cropped straight leg pair of denim like this pair. A perfect all year neutral pair of jeans.
  • Bluetooth Projector – Every January, there is one thing I regret not asking for Christmas. This is year, I regret not asking for a projector, which will be perfect for bedroom.
  • Black Quitled Top Handle Purse – I’m loving the srtuctured, but edgy look to this purse. Looks expensive, but it costs under $90.
  • Liquid Blush in Love – I have yet to try anything from Rare Beauty, but I’ve heard and seen nothing but great results with their liquid blush. The color ‘Love’ looks liek the perfect flush of pink for me.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2021

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2021

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2021 | STAINED COUTURE

How has April been treating you so far? Mines has been pretty good – despite having to pay taxes for the first time in years and still waiting on my third stimmy. *insert eyeroll*

However, my new place is starting to actually look and feel like my new home. I bought a couple chic looking counter stools AND I finally found a new sofa. After seeing that everyone’s shipping time was 8-19 weeks, I came up with the idea to try one of the furniture outlets here in Memphis. I was able to find and pounce on a nice roomy sofa in a perfect blue steel color. I need to fix a slight issue with a bent beam, but I only got it for $175 – a steal.

Aside from the furniture, I’ve also started to hang some things on the wall, such as my diplomas. I’m really starting to see it come together and I’m so excited. However, since I’ve been trying to find and buy home decor, I haven’t really bought any new clothes, accessories, or beauty products. So, I might have to pick up some new things this month and call it self-care.

So, check out the items I’m wanting this month in my Lust-Have list for April.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2021

  • Topicals FADED brightening and clearing gel – I’ve been hearing so much about this black-owned skincare line and have been dying to try this brightening serum. However, it keeps selling out on Sephora, but I’m probably just going to go ahead and order it elsewhere. Me and these new dark spots have got to get this.
  • Woven Crossbody Box Bag – While moving, I found my circular woven bag from a few summers ago, which I loved. So, I think I need a small box option – loving both colors of this one from Zara.
  • Cast Iron Patio Bistro Set – Now that my living room has finally started accumulating furniture, my balcony needs some seating options. Of course, I will probably get a couple of basic chairs at first. However, this cast iron bistro set is the ultimate goal. I love the turquoise option, but the classic black is forever.
  • Embellished Slide Sandals – Every time that I was ready to buy a pair of sandals these past couple of weeks, a cold front would come through. I think we’re done with those and I’m ready to acquire these gem embellished slides by Steve Madden. Not confident if me and my high instep can easily slide them on, but I’m willing to find out.
  • Wide Leg High Waisted Leopard Print Pants – I’m so over  my wardrobe, because it’s mostly sweatpants and shirts that don’t go with sweatpants. So, I’m trying to cop and anything that doesn’t have a elastic at the ankle and a tie waist. These pants from ASOS have the vibe and look I’m aspiring to have this spring and summer – wild, but responsible.

Fall 2020 Style Inspo

My favorite season is Fall, which I tell people as much as possible. I love almost everything about fall – chilly weather, warm beverages, and my birthday. However, I feel like the thing I enjoy most about fall is the style – fashion and home. Fall style is so effortless chic to me, which is the aesthetic I wish I could nail. Even though it’s not technically fall, I’m still not prepared for the Fall 2020 style vibes.

It has been irking me, because I see all the cute cozy clothes starting to come out. Plus, the perfect pair of boots and lightweight jackets, but I don’t feel the giddy feelings I usually feel around this time. So, I’ve decided to share a bunch of Fall 2020 style inspiration to hopefully get me – US – into the swing of things.
