It’s been consistently chilly these past week, finally! This weekend, while watching/listening to documentaries on Netflix, I decided to pull out the rest of my sweaters from the top shelf in my closet. While ankle deep in my sweaters, I realized that they were all solid colors. I wasn’t too shocked, since most of my clothes are solid colors. However, for the past few months, I’ve been trying to test out the world of prints. After wearing a few printed dresses recently, I like them a little more every time. Therefore, I feel I need to added some printed sweaters to the mix.
Since this is still a new aesthetic to my basic life, I’m not sure where to start when prints on sweaters. Last night, during commercial breaks during The Walking Dead, I found a few sweaters with prints that didn’t make me question who I was becoming. If you’re interested to see what printed sweaters made me smile while watching “walkers” get killed, keep reading.
I am a creature of habit that loves to be comfortable. I also love for things to be easy. Therefore, I can get stuck and start to hate everything. One thing I learned about trying to get unstuck is to get uncomfortable. A few months ago, I realized that I had become stuck in my closet of basic pieces that I can switch and mix with each other. So, I decided to get out of my norm of basic solid pieces and start embracing prints for fall.
Don’t get me wrong, I love and will continue to mostly buy solids, but prints are slowly becoming my jam. So much so, that I’ve worn and documented a lot of prints over the past few weeks. So, interested in my journey of embracing prints with some cute pieces that I got from Simply Be, then keep reading.
As you might be able to tell, fall is quickly approaching. So, it’s almost time to pack up those sleeveless tanks and tops and pull out the long sleeves. This is one of the reasons me and my flabby arms love this time of year. However, this season, a simple and basic long sleeve just won’t do, because it’s all about statement sleeves. Needless to say, me and flabby arms are here for it and you should, too. Plus, I’m usually here for statement pieces.
Statement sleeves can be anything from sleeves covered in applique designs, layers of ruffles, or just oversized in shape. Interested in this statement sleeve trend? Well, keep on reading for some worthy options.
One of my biggest dilemmas every summer is trying to come up with office-friendly clothing to wear when it’s almost 100 degrees outside. Although I work in a very casual office environment, I don’t want to look like I’m on my way to the beach in my Monday morning meetings. Personally, pieces that I can wear to work or play that are easy to wear and go are my jam. One item that meets these requirements are midi skirts.
Midi skirts are clutch, because they can easily be styled for any occasion. I already a classic black midi skirt and feel like I wear it at least once a week, because it’s so comfy and so easy to wear. Therefore, I feel I need to add at least one or 30 more to my life and hopefully you do, too. I have found us some options to step our midi skirt game up for the summer.
I’ve been some form of “plus-size” all my life. However, a few years ago, I finally learned to move more. I even had a trainer for awhile. Although I still don’t workout as much as I should, but I’ve worked out more in the past few years more than I did in the previous 30. Sad. What’s even sadder than that were the plus size workout clothes. They were usually boring, unexciting, and ill fitting. Pretty much dull sweat suits and black spandex pants. Boring. Thankfully, times have changed and now you can actually cute plus size athletic wear.
When the weather starts getting a little warmer and inviting, my desire to get out and get moving increases. Although I wish I had this desire all the time, it’s been intense this year. So, I’ve shopping for new athletic gear that I can wear comfortable and look cute while I attempt to melt some weight off. During this process, I’ve discovered some brands that make some pretty stylish and accessible workout clothing in plus sizes. When I say “stylish”, I mean really stylish!
