Musings about perfumes, colognes, and other beauty-related aromas

Fragrance Friday…Paris Amour

Bath & Body Works scents are amazing! I’ve rarely met one that I didn’t particular fancy to some extent. There have been a few that have been too sugary or too musky, but still that have some amazing scents blaring through those vents. You know that’s how they lure you in, right?

Anyway, my latest obsession is the Paris Amour Eau de Toilette. Now…this scent use to irk me, because it made me like I would smell like a “baby prostitute”. (10 gold stars for whoever can say where that ridiculously funny saying came from. Hint: Funny-a** teen movie)

Paris Amour is a uber-girly scent, but isn’t strong and adds a soft flush of scent to you. I love it! Although the scent is very soft and more appropriate for spring, it can still work all year round!

Fragrance Friday…Prada Candy

Obsessed. I smelt this perfume this past weekend and ever since, I’ve been obsessed. I’ve almost gotten to the point that, although I’m in a little and temporary financial bind, I’m still thinking about splurging on it as late B-Day gift to myself. Oh, did I forget to mention that yesterday was my 31st birthday? After you hit 30, the rest are pretty much just any other day. Anyway, back to this fabulous and sweet fragrance that is Prada Candy.

Prada Candy is outside my usual love of soft and clean scents. It’s a blend of musk, vanilla, and caramel (yes, caramel), which forms a sophisticated, sensual, and alluring scent. Ugh, just typing this makes me want it even more. In typical fabulous and posh Prada fashion, it’s not the most inexpensive perfume, because it starts at around $80. Still….I want it.

Fragrance Friday…Marc Jacobs Dot

I’m a huge fan of Marc Jacobs perfumes, especially Daisy. I love Daisy! Anyway, as soon as I saw his new scent, Dot, I was instantly sold. Not because of the scent or my past favorable experience with MJ scents, but by the packaging.

I’m a sucker for packaging and the ladybug look of the bottle means something to me. When I was in the 6th grade, I use to be one of the honor student tutors for a 2nd grade class and one of the students in the class (my friend’s little brother, to be exact) decided to call me “Ladybug” instead of my name which begins the same. Eventually, that nickname followed me to junior high where my best friend decided to call me that and still calls me that to this day (ALMOST 20 YEARS LATER!) Ladybugs will always hold a place in my heart and soon on my foot, because my next tattoo plans to be a ladybug.

Oh…the perfume! Anyway, despite the whimsical and playful package, Dot smells very alluring and sophisticated, thanks to the clean and slightly floral scent. Definitely a scent after my heart all together!

Do you want Fame?

Lady Gaga’s much anticipated first perfume has been released and is currently available at Sephora.

Although, I’m not much on celebrity perfumes, I am curious about this one. Apparently, it is black ink like liquid that evaporatesn once sprayed. Sounds interesting. Plus, I’m intrigued to smell what scent that Lady Gaga and her creative mind has concocted for her inaugural scent. Don’t you?

It comes in a rollerball and 3 different fluid ounce sizes, that starts at $42 at Sephora.

Making Scents of It: Bath & Body Work’s Country Chic

I’m a scent-aholic! I adore scents in perfume, body spray, air freshners…whatever. Soooo, I’ve decided that I want to start doing more perfume and cologne pieces (I swoon men’s cologne) whenever I feel the need or the urge and decided to create a new title for it and everything. Likey?

Anyway, the first scent is one from Bath & Body Works called Country Chic. I’m not sure how long it’s been around. I think they debuted the collection sometime this past summer, but I’m just now getting it. The reason I just recently bought it? Oh, you see, everytime I step foot in B&BW I always leave with enough lotions, body sprays, candles, and stuff to keep me smelling liking anyone you want meet or place you want to visit….for years. So, I made a conscious effort to afford that store like the plague for the past few month. Unfortunately, I had to go to the mall this past weekend to get my free birthday gift from Sephora and some other stuff that I didn’t need and told myself that I would just casually walk in B&BW to sniff the new fall candles and bounce empty-handed. Easy to say, hard to do.

So, one of the lotions I bought was Country Chic in the small bottle, just to give a whirl. After less than a week, I’ve finally decided do I love, like, or loathe it. Keep reading to find out.
