I had a pretty decent week. I worked everyday this week and everything went pretty smooth there, even though I was doing my job and covering for someone who was on vacation all week. So, combine long work days with hot weather, I spent my evenings at home sucking up A/C while going in on On Demand and enjoying being home and unwinding.

I love having an abundant amount of lemons within reach for ice water and iced tea. Plus, the $5 bouquet I grabbed from Kroger added a nice pop of freshness and color to my living area. The dry erase board I bought to write down notes has turned into a place for my roommate and I to write words of wisdom and even a guestbook at times for our guests to sign and write some very funny and/or inappropriate things….at times. I’m still tripping over the way my pillar candles have melted into bulbous wax entities that I love!

However, my favorite thing that I’ve been loving to do is participating in impromtu water ballon and water gun fights in the late night hours with friends and neighbors. So much fun for these hot and sweaty summer nights.

I’m really enjoying my life and the people and things in it! *grinning*

The Simpsons Chuck Taylor All Star Collection

Today, Converse announces a new collaboration with the longest running scripted show in television history, The Simpsons. Marking the show’s first ever footwear collaboration, The Simpsons Chuck Taylor All Star collection will feature custom graphics specially chosen for the collection in styles available for the entire family.

Currently in production on its record-annihilating 25th season, The Simpsons has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world.  The show’s characters Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie will be featured on the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor All Star in graphics reflective of the show’s wit and humor.

The Simpsons Chuck Taylor All Star collection features colorful screen printed graphics on styles available for fans of all ages.  Available for men, the Homer sneaker includes a blue and black background, accented with Homer exclaiming “D’oh!” on one side of the shoe, and “Woo Hoo!” on the other. Available in children and adult sizes, the Bart sneaker features Bart writing, “I will not waste chalk,” on a black background resembling the notorious Springfield Elementary School chalkboard, accented with a bright yellow inside lining.  The Family sneaker showcases all members of The Simpsons household depicted in their iconic likeness the world has grown to love.

The Simpsons Chuck Taylor All Star collection will be available at Journeys (Journeys.com) and Converse retail stores (Converse.com) beginning June 15, 2013 for $37 – $65.

Vans Sk8-Hi Wedge

Vans is the latest line to incorporate a hidden wedge sneaker into the brand with their Sk8-Hi Wedge sneakers. An internal three-inch heel, a gusset tongue for a relaxed fit, and exaggerated eyelets add a flare of fashion but the true vulcanized outsole and micro waffle tread raises the bar on what can be done with the Vans Classics.

For its introduction season, the Sk8-Hi Wedges will be available in heritage navy color with a white side stripe, black with a white side stripe, and leopard that adds just the right amount of Vans edge.

Isabel Marant x H & M

So….this is major to me, because I along with countless other fashion, have become obsessed withe style and fashion genius that is Isabel Marant and her iconic hidden wedge sneaker and chic clothes.

Well. today, H&M announced that they will be collaborating with the designer for a collection that will feature pieces inspired by her style and past collections. The collection will H&M stores and online November 14, 2013.

I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour. I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian. You dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed by following one’s own instincts and my take on fashion is all about personality,” says Isabel Marant.

“We are excited to have Isabel Marant as a guest designer at H&M. The way she mixes different elements in her collections, creating a style that is effortless and urban makes her very contemporary. She has a fantastic eye for ethnic detail and the rare ability to create something that people really want to wear. We are sure the H&M customers will be enthusiastic about this collection,” says Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor at H&M.
