SPRING PRINT: Classic Palm Print

Golden Girls!

That’s where I first remember seeing the classic palm print! Bonus point for anyone who can point out why. (Hint: Its the design of one of the ladies bedroom)

Anyway, although this iconic print is a bold and a little overbearing, it’s making a comeback in various styles this spring, including on clothes, accessories, and home decor.

Despite me not being a fan of prints, let alone big, bold prints, I must admit that I’m looking for a couple of ways to subtly incorporate this iconic print into my lifestyle and luckily I’ve found plenty of options to conquer this small tasks. I’m think a pillow or small printed picture of a palm leaf is my best option.

I Stole This From Oprah

Years ago, maybe even before Youtube and the ever popular “What’s In My Bag?” videos, on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, Oprah showed the contents of her purse. It was so epic to me, because she definitely carried her entire life in her purse, which also included the Maya Angelou’s daily itinerary. Hmm.

However, the one thing that Oprah carried in her purse that stuck with me is that she always carries 2 pair of sunglasses in her purse: a brown pair and a black pair. Therefore, no matter what she wears, one of the pair will work. Genius. So, since then, I’ve always carried a brown pair and black pair of sunglasses in my purse or my car…just like Oprah. Yep, I guess you can say I stole here idea.

My current brown shades are a classic pair of Ray Ban aviators, but with a sheer gold lens and frames. Love them, because they are slightly large, which makes them perfect for my round face. Yes, if you have a round face, there aviators for your face.

My black pair are a new addition to my life. A couple of months ago, while at the farmer’s market, I lost my beloved and kinda pricey pair of Super flat top and have been on the hunt for a new pair of simple and all black sunglasses. I was stalking the Celine Audrey sunglasses and was about to go ahead and invest (read: reason to buy something expensive) and buy them, but then I found an incredible and well-made knockoff at Target. Needless to say, I came to my senses and paid $17 for these shades and I love them.

So…thanks, Oprah!

My MCM Wallet

For the past few months, I’ve been needing a new wallet since I gave my shiny gold Michael Kors one to my sister, because she loved it and I was over the flashiness of it after only having it for a couple of months. So, I temporarily went back to a beat up and peeling red “leather” Kenneth Cole wallet I bought from Ross years ago.

I had been stalking this MCM 3 fold wallet for a couple of months and once it made the July Lust-Have List, I knew it was time to bite the bullet and buy it and I’m so in love. I love the detail and it’s ridiculously roomy filled with multiple card slots, pockets and hidden compartments.

I needed to invest in a good wallet, actually everyone needs a good, well-made wallet that will carry them through many years.

Do I Need…Granny Sunglasses

Granny Sunglasses or Spectator sunnies. No matter what you call these oversized, over-the-top acetate sunglasses, I’ve been pondering buying a pair.

Since I have inherited wide face/big head, I have ahead that craves large sunglasses and these large spectator style sunnies feel right. Plus, I love the look of high buns and huge sunglasses, which is always mt go-to casual look.

So, I’m honestly asking myself….do I need a pair of granny sunglasses? Do you?
