ITEM OF THE WEEK: Split End Repair Masque | STAINED COUTURE

This summer, like every summer, I have so many plans for my hair. However, like every summer, I fail to accomplish them. For the past couple of years, I’ve want to get everything from braids, fake dreads, to bundles to cankles. Despite me continuing to fail to get all the cute, protective styles, I do properly prepare my hair in case I do come through, one day. The main way I protect and prepare my hair is deep condition my hair weekly. My favorite deep conditioner masque that I’ve been using and loving is Eden Body Works Split End Repair Masque. Keep reading to find out all the reasons I love this masque.

Before I go any further, I feel like I have to give a personal disclaimer, but not for the reason you probably would expect from a blogger. I did buy this masque during a random stroll in Target. However, the name of this product can be a little deceiving, because no product can “repair” split ends. They are plenty of products that can temporary mend split ends, but not repair. Eventually, the chemical fiber used to mend the split end will come undone and your split ends will become noticeable again. Plus, they can even get worst and more noticeable. The only way to “fix” split ends is to clip them and deep condition your hair regularly; weekly.

Now, back to this hair masque, which actually helps your hair from split ends. This masque helps strengthen your hair, which helps to prevent you from getting split ends. That’s how it helps your repair your split ends; by helping to prevent them!

You use this masque, like most deep conditioners, by applying it after shampooing your hair and cover it with a plastic cap. However, you leave this masque on for 40 minutes, which seems extremely long for a hair masque.

This masque is super thick, which is probably why it needs to sit in your hair longer. However, once I rinsed it out, my hair felt stronger and softer. After I dried and flat ironed my hair, it looked stronger, too. I mean, what else would you want in a hair mask? Oh, I know, a delicious scent!

I must admit, I’m not really into scented hair masks, because the smell can be too overpowering, However, this mask has a faint scent of almonds and marshmallow, which is a pleasant cherry on top.

If you think you and your might need to try this, you can purchase it on Eden Body Works website or Target.
