LINK-END ROUND-UP: July 8, 2016

link-end round-up

Happy Friday and here’s the latest edition of Link-End Round-Up. I really wish that I could be my typical cool and collective self as I share my upcoming plans for the weekend and my other lazy ambitions. However, as a black woman with a black father, black brother, black nephew, and countless of black male friends, this week has been rough. It was hard to wake-up every morning this week and see that another black man’s life was taken, no less, by the gun of a authoritative person who we’ve programmed to trust and respect.

Let’s make this clear, I RESPECT ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT. I appreciate and admire what they do by putting their life on the line for us. However, there are some that get a little too trigger happy when they encounter a person of darker skin for NO REASON. No justice is injustice and vice versa. So, I’m going to spend my weekend praying and reflecting on the past, present, and future with the hope of some sort of positivity showing up.

Everyone have a safe and happy weekend and go hug some people. Let them know that you care that they are alive and to pass it on; no matter their race, sex, or sexual preference. That’s my mood.
