My Personal Brow Rules

my brow rules

Over the years, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with my brows. We were just rarely on the same page and they never looked perfectly identical. Yes, a common struggle for most who try to make their eyebrows match and with eyeliner, too. What is up with that?!

Oh, my brows. Yes, we were at end with each other, but that hasn’t been much of an issue since I’ve implemented some rules…brow rules. These are some things that I do and don’t do in relation to my eyebrows.

My Brow Rules:

  1. NO WAX or THREADING – So, this is my holy grail rule when it comes to maintaining my eye brows. I’ve seen too many people devoted to regularly getting their brows waxed and threaded to shape them. However, when you wax any part of your body, the hair grows back thinner or sometimes not at all. For me, I change the style of my brows every now and then. One month, I might want thinner, defined brows and few weeks later want unruly, bushy brows. Therefore, I use tweezers to shape my brows and maybe once or twice a year, I will get the fine hair around my brow area waxed. Just to clean it up.
  2. WATCH THAT ARCH – I used to be obsessed with a having a high and well-defined brow. Well, that was before I saw a picture of myself looking like I was super inquisitive about something. Actually, it was more of devilish inquisitiveness, thanks to quarter grin I had on my face. A grin and high brown will give you a Joker from Batman feel. So, a subtle arch is just enough. No, sharp or high arches por me.
  3. THIN IS NEVER IN for my brows – Every season, brows seem to have a trend. One season, thin and wispy is in and the next season, thick and bushy is the way to go. However, for me and my fat face, a well trimmed, wide and natural looking brow is the way to go. Your brows shape your face. So, unless you have the good luck of having a face shape and lifestyle that will allow you to wear any shape of brow you want, stick to what shapes frames your face the best.
