LUST-HAVE LIST: March 2011

The weather is clearing and warming up. Although I have a feeling that there is one more big snow left for us here in Memphis, spring is still right around the corner.

So, this month’s lust-have list features very springy pieces.

  • A. Jersey Stripe Scarf, $8.80, Forever 21 – March is one of the weather borderline months in which when you leave in the morning, its a bit chilly, but warm and sunny when you leave work. So, having a not so light or heavy nuetral scarf that you can leave in your purse is a good idea! I love this one from Forever 21!
  • B. Air Delfina Wedges, $198, Cole Haan – I’m in the mood to find and buy a pair of nude espadrilles that aren’t too high in height and price and comfortable to wear around the office and outside. I think I found a winner in these espadrilles from Cole Haan. Plus, they are par of the Air line, which means COMFORT!
  • C. Cara “Critters – Hummingbird” Ring, $42, Nordstrom – Doesn’t this ring just scream “Spring”?! It’s a big pink crystal hummingbird that is so cute and a definite conversation starter. So, cute!
  • D. Alice + Olivia Polka Dot Flutter Shorts, $198, Shopbop.com – I’ve mentioned it plenty of times to you in the past that I’m not a fan of showing my legs and that includes shorts. However, I’ve been lusting for a pair of flutter shorts, because the illusion of a skirt, but with comfort of shorts. Kinda of like modern and fashion acceptable skort!
  • E. Anya Hindmarch Valorie glitter clutch, $395, Net-A-Porter.com – A glitzy navy clutch is all I need right now! This clutch is pretty enough to wear to any occasion, but small enough to keep in your purse as a wallet.

Hold please….

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been a smidge MIA for the past couple of days, because the cord on my laptop sparked, melted, and ultimately became completely useless to me. So, as soon as that happened, I hopped on my laptop and used some of the 30 minutes left on its battery to hit up Amazon and order a new one with a 2 day delivery. Well, its been 3 days since I ordered it and it doesn’t even show that it’s been shipped!!!

So, as soon as I finish this rant, I’m going to have to contact Amazon, because this ridiculous. However, while you wait for me to deal with this, take a nice stare at Christian Louboutin’s Pik Pik Pik 120 studded slingbacks. They look as mean as I plan to be with Amazon, but pretty…as I feel.

Leopard and Cheetah prints spotted all weekend

Apparently, leopard and cheetah print was the way to go this weekend. Well, at least based on the number of celebs seen rocking the classic prints this weekend at various events.

Both rapper Trina and actress Elise Neal attended the same LV event in LA this weekend rocking sheer cheetah print tops.

While socialite Paris Hilton decided to wear her leopard print in a demure dress, Khloe Kardashian opted to wear her print in large print on a pair of cropped, high waisted pants. Umm….yeah….no comment.

Even the men tested out the print this weekend. Well, at least one man did! Rapper Drake was seen wearing a leopard print shirt under his camel blazer. Interesting.

Another Post. Another Pair of Blue Shoes.

There has been this one outfit I’ve been forming in my mind that I want to create for spring. It consists of rolled up, straight leg khakis, a white crew neck top with red and/or blue stripe, and topped off with a pair of flat shoes. I could never decide what color or style I wanted the shoes other flat with clean lines.

Well, I think I’ve found the missing piece to my dream spring look in these A.P.C blue suede tassel moccasins. Plus, they remind me of a pair of Bass shoes I had when I was younger and didn’t really love until it was too late and they couldn’t fit anymore. Still, these moccasins are adorable and versatile.

Colorblocking with Fendi

Seriously, the weather here in Memphis has been amazing the past couple of days and according to the local weathermen and women, it will apparently stay this way for a while. Although I’m a little skeptical that we have seen the last of winter weather, I’ve already broken out my hot pink polish and booked and appointment to lighten my hair for spring.

So, to keep the spring fling movement going, I can’t help but to start snooping around the sandal sections of some of my favorite shopping haunts like Saks, where I spotted these awesome color block Fendi sandals. Amazing!

Ladies, you need to have a pair of color block sandals in your closet. No, really, you do. So, if these Fendi pair are too pricey for you, like me, stay on the hunt for other inexpensive options. There are some out there, but we just need to stay on the look out!
