I know we’ve all complained about how we encountered situations as an adult that we should’ve learned about before having to go through it. However, there are things in life that you just can’t afford to overlook and should handle ASAP. This are things that are just part of being an adult and will affect you succeed in adulting.

When I turned 40, I immediately felt like I wasn’t prepared for what was ahead. It was such a weird and emotional realization. However, after sulking for 2-3 business days, I decided that I needed to start preparing and/or working the progress. Recently, a good friend of mine lost her husband and he was relatively young. Obvioulsy, death is never easy, but it also makes you start thinking are you prepared. To make it easy for my loved ones, I’ve been casully sharing my end of life wishes. One of the best things you can do to ensure that it is to have life insurance. Speaking of “cheap”, that was my vibe for most of last year. Last year, I cut back on my frivilous spending drastically. I cut it back so much that I lost my rewards status at Sephora and Ulta, which had me in my feels for a couple of days. However, in doing so, it really made me realize that I didn’t need all the things. So, this year, I’m into continuing to cut back on my spending, but also start saving more. One thing that I’ve been embarrassingly laxing over the few years is not only my health, but my annual check ups. Unfortunately, I was one of the people that hated going to the doctor, because it was stressful. I would only go if I was sick. However, the older you get, the more important it is to go in for your annual check ups. These check ups include not just to your primary care doctor, but also dentist and eye doctor. Last year, I decide to make my health and these check ups a required task. So, I made sure which checkups I need annually and how often, which is very important.

I know this can all seem too overwhelming and make you feel like you are running behind. Trust me, I know that feel, but it’s never too late too start. Start today!
