LUST-HAVE LIST: July 2015

LHL_july2015

I can’t lie, July really crept up on me. One minute I was hiding out from the humid heat in my chilly house and the next thing I know, July is the next day. The humidity fogged my train of thought and recognition of a whole new month to complain about the heat.

Little known fact about me, I love Independence Day! The holiday, not the movie, because…shocker…I’ve never seen it. Keep your awes and strong lowered brows of disbelief to yourself. I plan to change that very soon. In the meantime, get into the things I’m lusting for this month.

  • Maria Black Tusk Twirl Earrings – Intricate and delicate looking jewelry always intrigues my interest, including these earrings that look you twist them into your ear. However, they are actually post fastened. So, no cringing at the thought of having to slowly twist some metal into your ear lobe.
  • HP Officejet 150 Mobile All In One Printer – Up until recently, I really didn’t a printer. If I ever needed anything quick printed, I would do while at work of take a quick trip to my brother house. However, I’ve recently been retesting the eCommerce waters (stay tuned for that) and started selling some things on eBay and Etsy, which requires the printing of mailing slips and package labels. Therefore, I need to invest in a printer. I love the mobility of this printer since I do all my business on my laptop. Plus, it also includes a scanner, which will come in handy when I need to upload some of my sketches into Photoshop.
  • J. Crew Glitter-Strap Espadrilles – What can compliment thick tanned legs more than a pair of subtle gold and glittery nude-ish flat espadrille? Well, I’m sure there are plenty, but I’m all into these espadrilles from J. Crew that are more than worthy to be worn all summer.
  • Studio Mucci Fringe Lantern – I’ve recently grown a obsession with Studio Mucci and everything they make, including this pink ombre’ fringe lantern. I can really make this work in my life.
  • Round-About Chair – In the world of Pottery Barn, I have the taste of a teen, because I want the majority of the items under the PB Teen line including the round-about swivel chair. The color is perfect, as is the design and overall neutral vibes its giving.
  • Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick – A cleansing product in stick form that lets you target problem deep pore areas to remove all those gross impurities that just won’t let me skin be great.

WHAT’S IN MY BAG: Summer 2015

Whats-in-my-bag-summer-2015-1

It’s officially summer and I want to be excited so bad for potential sexy tan lines and legit reasons to indulge in ice cream, BBQ, and frozen cocktails. However, this heat? Bruh. It’s been doing the most. Currently, Memphis is under a heat advisory and I’m doing any and everything to avoid the heat. Triple digits heat indexes are not appealing at all.

Since this heat looks like this is going to be one of the hottest summers, I’ve made the conscious decision to stop carrying so much stuff in my purse. Yes, I’m one of those women that totes a bag filled to the brim with stuff that I might need, but rarely, if ever do.

So, this weekend, I finally narrowed down the things I plan/need to carry this summer. Also, I broke out my super bright and summer perfect neon yellow purse….for maybe the last time. Keep reading for more on that and to see what’s in my bag this summer.

Whats-in-my-bag-summer-2015-2

  • Bag: I love my Rebecca Minkoff Hudson (smaller version in green here) in Neon Yellow, but rarely wear it.I’m going to put it on ebay and hopefully someone will fall in love with it, too.
  • Notebooks: I use the green one to take notes at church and pink one contains all my thoughts( business and personal). It’s pretty much a bucket for my brain’s glitter covered vomit.
  • Snack: I’m currently obsessed with these zuchinni carrot loaves that my sister-in-law got from her mom. They taste like bran muffins, to me. Nice alternative to sugary cakes.
  • Lip Balm: 100 degree weather is not really make-up friendly. However, a little smudge of this pink lip butter from Korres adds just enough color to my face and moisture to my lips.
  • Keys/Wallet: Finally found the perfect wallet. Rebecca Minkoff Metro Wallet has plenty of slots for cards/cash, zipper for coins, and keychain for my keys. Grab and Go lifestyle.
  • Sunglasses: You might remember these sunglasses from here and yes, they are still in my life. Protecting my eyes and making me feel chic. However, I do need some new black sunnies.
  • Powder: This transparent powder from Laura Mercier might be the only real make-up I wear this summer and that’s just to buff down really shiny spots. Yes, I’m talking to you, T-Zone.
  • Sunscreen: Wear sunscreen. Everyday. Sunny and cloudy days. I’ve been obsessed with Pur-lisse pur-protectDaily Moisturizer has SPF 30. Once I use it on my face, I throw it in my purse to use on my hands through out the day, too. Especially when driving.

What necessities are you planning to carry this summer or things you finally removed from your daily bag? Please share.

LUST-HAVE LIST: June 2015

LHL_june2015

It’s really surreal to think that 2015 is halfway over, but June is the mid-way point to the end of the year. Also, June marks when summer officially enters (June 21) our life! So, break out those shorts, sunscreen, and sandals and take a look at all the things to lust for this month’s Lust-Have List.

Hey June!

  • Smart Bartender and Smart Baking Gift Set – Measuring sucks. I’m an eyeballer, which means I look and mentally evaluate if that is enough or should I add more. Not to brag, but I’ve become really good at it! However, why eyeball when your iPad can tell you the right amount. Smart Bartender and Smart Baking is an ingenious that allows you pick an recipe from an app, plus in a scale and get real time measurements without the need to keep checking the line. Pour, wait for ding, and done. You can buy each separately, but I love being an amateur bartender and baking is great. Win, win!
  • Kate Spade New York Metro Watch – I love my gold/silver chunky MK watch. However, I’ve been meaning to buy a simple, chic, and everyday perfect watch that’s lighter, but just as chic and I think this watch from Kate Spade fits the bill. Perfect shape, color, and style.
  • KG Kurt Geiger Flatform Espadrilles – I don’t know much, but I know I need a pair of flatform espadrilles this summer. They look perfect with shorts, pants, skirts, and dresses and super comfy. They look really chic!
  • Moschino Quilted Shell Clutch – Fun pouches are one of my essential for summer. This teddy bear covered pouch from Moschino is fun, cute, and includes a “Moschino” wristlet. Win!
  • Bumble & Bumble Don’t Blow It Hair Cream – Nothing says summer hair to me more than hair full of texture and body, which is just what I’m expecting to receive from this cream.

LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2015

LHL_may2015

Better late than never? Well, I’ve never really been too fond of that statement, but it does apply in this situation…and my benefit. *Grins*

The first few days of May were ridiculously amazing; awesome weather, local music festival, watch parties for a couple of sporting events, and Cinco de Mayo! Plus, my sister and I fired up the grill to smoke enough chicken, hot dogs, and sausage to last us all weekend and then some, as in, we still have some grilled hot dogs and sausage in the fridge.

With a week off from work and few events and festivals coming up this month, the rest of the month of May is looking to be just as great as the start of the month. In the meantime, here are a few things that I’m wanting and lusting to add to my life this month. So, check out this month’s Lust-Have List.

  • Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield -It was over 90 degrees yesterday. Therefore, my frizz is starting to act up and I’ve heard some great things about this hairspray.
  • Koku Christina Clutch – This holographic clutch is perfect nights out and running weekend errands when my big everyday bag is too big to carry.
  • A Curious Mind: The Secret to a Bigger Life – The author of this book, famous Hollywood producer Brian Grazer, was on a episode of Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday a couple of weeks ago and he just really spoke to me and this book will finish the conversation.
  • Pamela Love Stardust Ear Cuff – I want an ear cuff and this Pamela Love one is really cute, but not too aggressive.
  • MUJI Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser – This simple object not only releases fragrances (sold separately), but also features a light that gives on a nice glow.
  • TopShop Unique Patent Leather Sandals -This is the perfect sandal to carry you from spring to summer, because it goes with practically everything.
