Every so often, I become quite obsessed with certain styles of things from fur pillows to peplum hem shirts. Recently, I realized that I’ve become obsessed with loafers and not those trendy loafers. Instead, I’ve been all flat, dark leather classic loafers. I know very preppy, which is not me. However, I love the look of them paired with boyfriend style jeans or those destroyed hem skinny jeans that everyone seems to be wearing now.

When I think of a true classic loafer, it pretty much looks like these LADYBIRD patent leather loafers from Topshop. Perfect androgynous and tailored looking. Plus, they look like they cost way more than their $48 price tag.
The first pair of loafers I can ever remember is a brown pair that a 2nd grade classmate of mine used to wear all the time. It was the 80s and her parents dressed her very preppy and those brown loafers with a shiny copper penny was everything. These loafers from Cole Haan instantly took me back to the the 2nd grade. The matte leather and and traditional slit to slide in a penny are perfection to 2nd grade me.
If I can the comfortable coins to buy these Tod’s Penny Loafers I would’ve bought them yesterday. I’m a sucker for a blue and these blue ombre’ loafers just feel like they need to be mine.
