I’m definitely one of the curly hair girls that mostly wear their hair straight in the colder months. Straight hair is just easier to maintain in the hectic winter months. However, in an effort to cut back on applying heat to my hair, I’ve recently been wearing it curly, which has allowed me to try some new hair products for the curls.

When you have curly hair, it’s important to make sure your hair is properly conditioned. Conditioner helps make sure your hair is more manageable, which is definitely a must for curly hair. I’ve been using the Esha Girl Leave-In Conditioner for the past couple of months and it’s been so good! I love the light and creamy texture, because it’s easy to apply to my hair. However, my favorite thing is that it’ also very moisturizing. This leave-in is so moisturizing that it’s the perfect product for wash-n-go styles, because my hair looks and feels moisturized.
Over the holidays, I placed a couple of in-store pickups from Sephora. Both pickups included a deluxe sample of the Amika Soulfood Hair Mask. This hair mask is a true hair mask that’s thick and hydrating. It’s so hydrating that I only used half a container and my hair was so soft and bouncy. I used this hair mask for when I was preparing to wear my hair straight and curly. No matter the style, my hair looked and felt amazing.
I can’t believe that I didn’t find out how much my curls love mousse until 2023. Although I loved The Doux Def Mousse real bad, I decided I wanted to try some more options. So, I picked up the travel size Pattern Curl Mousse which made me love mousse even more. It dries really fast, which doesn’t give you much time to work with it. However, it gives me the soft, fluffy curls I want. I’m definitely buying the full-size!
Big, fluffy curls are my jam, but those shiny curls still hit the spot. That’s why I’ve been loving Ouidad Curl Quencher Styling Gel, which hydrates and defines. This gel also seals in the moisture while still feeling lightweight. A must-try if you have any curl or wave to your hair.
