ITEM OF THE WEEK is a weekly series on Stained Couture that highlights a product I’m currently loving. This week: Maui Moisture Thicken & Restore Fortifying Hair Mask
Currently, I’m in limbo with what I want to do with my hair – lighter or natural dark brown. At this moment, I want to go lighter again, but I know my hair is not ready. Therefore, I’v been trying to take extra care of my hair, which includes weekly deep conditioning. Every couple of months, I switch my between different hair masks. Recently, I’ve been using and loving Maui Moisture’s Thicken & Restore Bamboo Fibers Fortifying Hair Mask. Keep reading to see why this is my Item of the Week.
This mask has made my hair feel so much stronger, which is the main reason I love this mask. Although I haven’t had my hair lightened in almost a year, my hair still felt a little weak. Once I started using this mask weekly, I noticed that my hair felt stronger. Plus, I’ve also noticed less shedding, which was another issue I’d been having with my hair.
My last hair mask really helped strengthen my hair ends, but they have been lightened the most. So, there’s always room for improvement and extra conditioning. Since my ends need the most attention and strengthening, I sometimes slather it on my ends and leave on overnight. When I wake up in the morning, I rinse it our and let it air dry for the rest of the day. I’ve also used this as a leave-in conditioner when I wear my hair naturally curly. I only use a small amount and massage it on my wet hair, because this mask is heavy. So, a little scoop give my curls the right amount is moisture and definition.
You can find this and other Maui Moisture products and most drugstores, big box retailers, and Ulta.
