EMPTIES: April 2022
Y’all – I’m so proud of myself for using up so many products last month! Keep reading to get my final take on these products.
LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2022
It feels so wild that it’s already May, but January feels like 10 months ago. Anyhow, I’m actually looking forward to this month, because I’m starting to actually make plans for the summer. I’ve already started to plan a couple of road trips and finally ready to start finding some furniture for my balcony. I want to lay out there and tan in peace. Actually, I need to look for a new swimsuit that actually fits my body.
Recently, I learned that I’ve been suffering from body dysmorphia for the past few years. This caused me to buy and wear clothes that are too big for me since I’ve lost some weight over the years. Not to mention, I know longer care what people think about how I look. If I feel good and comfortable, I don’t care what others think. Hopefully, everyone will reach this level of peace and big IDGAF energy. I love it here!
As for my wants this month, it’s screaming that summer is coming and I’m trying to be ready. So, here is my wishlist for May 2022 and I feel like I’m actually going to buy all these items this month.
LINK-END ROUND-UP: April 29, 2022
Happy Friday! We survived another week and month, because today is the last business day of the month. April felt long, bruh! Actually, today is already feeling a little long, but it’s Friday. So, that’s a highlight. Also, I have a long awaited a hair appointment today, which I’m so excited about it. My best friend is also my hair stylist, which also makes it an impromptu.
As for this weekend, I want to try to finally make it to the farmers market. I haven’t in few years, thanks to COVID, but the weather is too nice to not go tomorrow. Plus, my fridge needs the fresh produce and I want to check out some local vendors. Actually, I can’t wait now that I think about it.
This past week, I went to IKEA to see a table I’ve been eyeing person, but it was sold out. It wasn’t just sold out my IKEA, but practically every IKEA in the country. So, I guess I’m back to the drawing board trying to find a circle dining table that doesn’t break the bank. le sigh
Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend and get as much fresh air as possible. Also, please check out the links in this week’s Link-End Round-Up.
Over the past few months, my skin has been going through it! First, winter did not come to play to year, because we had cold, rigid temps and multiple snow falls. Plus, the cold temperatures acted like they didn’t want to leave. My poor skin got so dry and I was going through all the products that had that claimed to “moisturize” and/or “hydrate”. Now, they did do all that, but I needed to one extra step to make sure they worked – a skin balm.
Personally, for many reasons, I think everyone needs a skin balm in their personal skincare arsenal. The first reason that you may need a skin balm is if your skin tends to get drier in the winter and hard to hold moisture. Once you apply your moisturizer, you can apply a thin layer of a creamy skin balm to help seal the moisture and protect your skin barrier. At night, you can use a thicker one to help seal the moisture and your nightly skincare products. A few months ago, this became a skincare trend known as slugging. Finally, a skin balm helps protect and heal your skin, which is ideal for people with sensitive skin.
Keep reading to find out more about skin balms and if/why may need one. Of course I included some options for you. 🙂
Getting my nails done has been one of my favorite acts of self-care, ever since junior high. Although I love getting them professionally done, I love to do them myself. Actually, I haven’t had my nails professionally done since before the pandemic began back in March 2020. My last appointment was on the Saturday before the world started to collapse. So, I’ve been doing my own nails exclusively for 2 years, which has allowed me to discover some of the best nail products.
Please keep reading to see what products I’ve been discovering and loving.
