Today is the last day for the Sephora VIB Sale, which I hit up last week.
Keep reading to see what items I bought and why. Also, there are a couple of items in my cart that I’m still pondering if I should go ahead and buy before I got sleep.
In case you aren’t aware, the Sephora VIB sale happens twice a year; in the spring and winter. The sale give 20% off for VIB Rouge, 15% VIB (Me!), and 10% for everyone else. I did an online pickup order last week on the first day I was eligible to shop. FYI, the first couple of days are for VIB Rouge only.
Personally, I use this sale to grab a few essentials and to try out a few items on my wishlist that are a little pricey. However, this round, I stuck to the essentials that I love and use regularly. First up is the Laniege Cream Skin, because I can’t live without this moisturizing toner.
Next up is a brand that I’ve been wanting to try for years, but never got around to it – Paula’s Choice. The first product is the main product I wanted to try, their BHA Liquid Exfoliant. When it comes to exfoliants, I tend to gravitate towards physical ones. However, I’ve heard nothing but great things about this liquid exfoliant. BHA helps to minimize the appearance of large pores and improve skin texture. Also, I love that it’s gentle enough to use twice a day, which I’ve been doing since I bought. I’ve only been using it for a week and not twice a day everyday, but I can already tell a difference. My skin looks and feels smoother – can’t wait to see the progress after a month or when the bottle is empty.
The product is another product that I’ve been wanting to try from Paula’s Choice – their 1% Retinol. Unlike the liquid exfoliant, I will not be using this twice or even daily. This is very strong and potent retinol, which you should ween to your skin. Although I’ve used retinol in the past, I’ve only used OTC products with retinol. However, this one is clinical strength and should only be 1-2 times a week, at first. If you don’t, you could possible cause your skin to react with retinol burns. Also, make sure you apply it at night and follow it with a heavy night cream to keep your skin moisturized.
I decided to throw in small box of Dr. Dennis Gross Extra Strength Daily Peel Pads, which I love. However, I won’t be breaking this out on days when I use the retinol, because that’s too many ingredients that will cause my skin to burn. So, when I do decide to use one, it will be at least 2 days after applying retinol. Anyway, I love this peel pads, especially in the winter to help rid of dry skin. FYI, since I’ve used these pads on and off for years and I’ve been using the extra strength one for years. So, if you’ve yet to try these, start with the regular strength peel pads.
Finally, I wanted to add a new day time eye cream and went with Origins Gin-zing, but in a tube. I usually get the one that comes in a jar, which I should have done this time. So far, I’m not a fan of the tube, because it’s hard to get the top off. In order for me to get the top off, I have to squeeze the tube and pull the top. Doing it that way caused quite a bit to squeeze out, which was a waste. Still, this is a great everyday undereye cream that brightens.
There are still a couple of items I’m [pondering getting before the day is out, but the one product that I really want to get is the MILK Hydro Grip Setting spray. I saw this setting spray on TikTok and it’s supposed to like a like a liquid version of their hydro grip primer. The primer is amazing and if this is a setting spray version of it, I need it. I want to pick it up in store and only one Sephora in the city has it and it’s cross town. Still, I may have to take that adventure to get it, before the Sephora VIB sale ends.
