Tax-Free Weekend Single Girl Shopping List

tax-free weekend shopping list

This weekend is Tax-Free Weekend here in Tennessee and other states. One of the main reasons for tax-free weekend is to allow parents to get their kids school supplies and clothing for the school year without having to pay taxes and save some money to buy enough supplies. However, for single, kids-free people like myself, we take this opportunity to also load up on last minute summer clothes on sale and potential fall pieces that are fresh on the racks.

I also feel incline to do some shopping, because tax-free weekend finally has coincided with my payday, which never seems to happen. Therefore, I have my hand on my cards and my eyes on some items that I’m hoping to snatch up this weekend. The downside is that this only applies to clothing $100 or less. Sucks, but the easy loophole to just place multiple orders online or multiple in-store trips. Plus, most sites offer free shipping on orders $75-$100 or more. *insert happy dance* So, let’s do this!

The first thing I’ve been scouting for fall is a cute pair of black shoes that I can easily transition from late summer all up into fall. These lace-up pointed heels from Zara are perfect. They would look great when paired with short flowery dresses or crop trousers. Versatility at it’s best.

Dresses have been my go-to item for the summer, because it’s been balls hot and has drained me and leaves me with only enough energy to throw on a dress and hope for the best. Time for some realness, friends. Fall fashion is about deep colors, light layers, and envisions of coziness. However, the beginning of fall is still hot and humid. So, lightweight clothing in deep fall-friendly colors is a great compromise. This Alice & You Contrast Print dress from ASOS is perfect. Even though it has longer sleeves and dark colors, it’s still lightweight enough to stylishly carry you from summer to fall and maybe even into winter.

HM-powder-beige-bag

Obsessed with this perfect blush bag from H&M. Not ashamed to say that I’ve been stalking it for the past couple of days. Also, I definitely won’t be ashamed when I buy it this weekend. I just hope my local H&M has it in stock, because you can’t beat that price of only $49. You just can’t! Plus, it’s going to look amazing paired with pretty much any and everything in my closet.

olive-drawstring-backpack

Well, I guess I can actually pick up a “school-related” item, especially when it’s this chic. An olive backpack for the win this fall, peeps! I spotted this bag earlier this week at Target and stopped to ponder buying it at that moment. However, I quickly noticed the signs alerting shoppers about the upcoming tax-free weekend. So, I put it back on the rack, but not before whispering to it that “I’ll be back this weekend for you, my pretty.” It was just as dramatic as you probably imagined while reading that.

These are just a few things that I’m hoping to possibly pick up this weekend…tax-free!
