When it comes to styling a winter and/or Christmas look, there are certain materials and details that just scream “Wear me for Christmas!”. Materials such as leather and velvet and sparkly accessories are perfect things to add to a festive winter look. Since these elements can be very flashy, it’s usually best to only include one or two of these when concocting your Christmas outfit. However, this year, I decided to come up with a look that can incorporate all the known glitzy details, but in a soft, yet edgy look in this year’s eStylist Christmas 2015 outfit.
A pair of classic leather pants, a roomy velvet top, and touches of sparkle and studded accessories created this awesome inspiration for a Christmas day of visiting family, friends, and some last minute Christmas weekend parties.
- Velvet Top – It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a velvet top that’s not too matronly. This one has just the right of bohemian vibes with chic shape.
- Emerald Cut Drop Earrings – Not only are these earrings super affordable, but you will be able to break these out for any and every occasion that could use a little sparkle.
- Stretch Leather Pants – You need a pair of leather pants in your closet. If you don’t already have a pair, might I suggest these? Premium leather without the premium price tag.
- Cuff Bracelet – Another accessory that you can wear any and everyday.
- Minaudiere Rhinestone Clutch – Gorgeous clutch with the right amount of sparkle.
- Studded Booties – Studded booties? Why, yes, we do need these in my life.
Here I am, bright eyed and bushy tail on this Monday morning, super happy that I’m finally fully in the holiday spirit and just in time for Thanksgiving.
Like I’ve previously pointed out, I usually spend my Thanksgiving as a guest, and this year is no different. This year I only have two destinations: my dad’s house and my brother’s in-laws. Therefore, the only thing I have to worry about is what too wear, which can be very tricky.
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that’s mainly family, but can also include random family friends and friends of friends coming by a.k.a strangers. However, depending on the way the day go, those strangers might become new friends or “boo” (wink, wink).
Therefore, your turkey day can be too casual (read; sweats and tee) or too over the top, because you know…dribbles happen. So, you have the pick outfit that has the comfort and give for a possible expanding belly AND still look put together.
For me, this year, I think I going to reach for this corduroy skirt that has been collecting age in the back of my closet. It’s perfect, because it’s dark and has the right amount of elastic around the waist. I’m going to pair it with a billowy top and maybe some black tights and flats or tall boots. Still a toss up. Very simple, but a little vampy.
Here’s a little inspiration for your Thanksgiving Outfit 2015:
Look, who doesn’t love a good red dress moment? I mean…exy! However, on Valentine’s Day, it can be an overkill considering you can literally walk into a room of 20 women wearing some style of a red dress. Short, long, sleeves, or sleeveless, they are will be represented. So, why not switch it up a bit and opt for a red and chic jumpsuit.
Do we need a red jumpsuit in our closets now? Possibly. So, let’s ponder opting for one for Valentine’s Day.
This look will work for a sweet V-Day night with your love or a Single Ladies Only Valentine’s Day GNO. It’s chic and classic and will work for plenty of night outings throughout your year(s). Keep reading for more details.
