EMPTIES: March 2023
It looks like I’m starting to use up more products again, huh? Well, this EMPTIES post has some good first timers and some that I will not be sharing in anymore EMPTIES posts for awhile. So, keep reading to see what beauty and skincare products I used up last month and my thoughts.
Let’s start this post with a product that will be going in the EMPTIES retirement, because I buy and use it up all the time. The Bioderma Micellar Water is my holy grail micellar water, because it’s light and effective. It really looks and feels like water and I buy it up all the time. I mostly use it to remove the last remenants of eye makeup and makeup in my hair line.
Another addition to the retirement list is the CosRX Snail Mucin essence. This has been my go-to essence for the past couple of years and buy a couple every time they are on sale. Recently, I discovered that they are great to use as protectant when doing at home dermaplaning a.k.a shaving your face. Honestly, I’ve ever heard or read anyone say anything bad about this product.
I’ve been wanting to try Nutrium skincare for a while and decided to start with their Niacinamide Cleansing Gelee. My skin appreciates when I give it niacinamide products, but I usually use niacinamide serums. So, this was my first time trying a cleanser that has niacinamide in it. However, I loved this cleanser, because it was gentle and my skin look and feel clean. The gel like texture was just as lovely. I bought the travel size to see how my skin and I would like it. I’m definitely buying the full-size next time.
Another brand I’d been wanting to try was FENTY skincare, especially the Fat Water. I bought to use as a toner, but I wasn’t that impressed with it. It was calming and I did like the thick like texture. However, I bought the toner with niacinamide in it to help with refining pores. However, I think I’m going to try the hydrating version next because my skin love hydrating toners for my enlarged pores.
I’ve been wearing my hair curly a lot more since I’ve gone copper-ish and The Duex Mousse Def hair mousse has been amazing. Hair mousse is great to help define and hold curls, which is why I’ve been loving this product for my curls.
Since I’ve been wearing my hair curly more, it’s also caused me to try new hair moisturizers. The Miracle Damage Repair Cream from HASK was really good. I mostly used this on just ends to help protect my ends from split ends. It’s creamy, but thick which is why I only put it on my ends. I liked it and would buy it again.
I’m into my nude and glossy lips phase and these 3 products came in clutch when needed. The Shine On lip balm was moisturizing, but nothing too special. The Buxom gloss was good, but it doesn’t plump or last as long as it used to when I first tried it. However, that elf Lip Laquer in Wild Rose was a 10 out of 10 and I’ve been meaning to get another one. It made my lips look smooth, which kind of gave a natural plump look. I’m buying this again and going to try other colors.
Finally, I attempted to give another eye cream a chance and it was Strivectin’s turn. The StriVectin anti-wrinkle concentrate is actually a good eye cream to help tighten the under eye. Although the directions say that you can use it day and night, I only used it at night. It would make my under eye makeup break up and seperate. So, it’s a really good night time eye cream and I would buy it again.
