LINK-END ROUND-UP: July 15, 2022 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy Friday! I have good news and bad news going on in my life right now. Good news is that today is my last day in the office before my vacation begins. The bad news is that my boss and coworker have been out because they both have been in close contact with people who both tested positive for COVID on Wednesday. Luckily, they are both vaccinated, haven’t tested positive, and aren’t feeling any symptoms. However, if the latter 2 changes today, I will have to cancel my trip to Dallas this weekend.

The main reason I’m going is to see my childhood best friend and attend her daughter’s baby shower. I don’t want to take even the slightest chance that I could bring it and get anyone there infected. So, praying for negative test results for all. Ironically, the last time I went to Dallas was June of 2020, which was a quick trip because I was trying to avoid catching it. Now look at me – probably can’t go to avoid spreading it. SMH

So, my weekend plans are dependent on the results of my co-workers test results. If I’m going to be completely honest – as usual – I don’t think I have it. However, I do have a slightly itchy throat, which is most likely from sleeping under a ceiling fan that’s long overdue for a dusting. Not to mention that I also have anxiety and paranoia, but just a little bit. 😉 If you follow me on IG or TikTok, you will find out if I went or not.

Still, I hope you have a great weekend and please check out the reads in this week’s Link-End Round-Up.

EMPTIES: June 2022

EMPTIES: June 2022

EMPTIES June 2022 | STAINED COUTURE

As you can tell by the photo, I didn’t use up that many products. However, what I did use up is worth talking about.

First up is the CosRX Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, which is a repeat buy. Although most essence products tend to have a water like consistency, this one is on the thicker side. However, it’s light-weight and easily absorbs into the skin. It’s super hydrating and helped in improve my skin’s texture and even helped with some discoloration. I apply this after my Laniege toner and before my serums.  Like I said, this is a repeat, but it’s actually one of the products I buy 2 at a time. So, when I used up this one, I already had another one waiting in the wind. 🙂

Next up the Brighten-i Eye Cream from The Inkey List. Every time I mention an eye cream, I have to give the disclaimer that eye creams are a hit and miss with me. Unfortunately, I have more misses than hits with them, but this is not a miss. This eye cream is a great everyday – day and night – eye cream. It’s hydrating and absorbs amazingly into the skin – love it! Plus, it’s super affordable.

A few months ago, one of my good friends held a daily steps competition for our friend group. FYI, I won and the prize was this pretty nice pedicure and nail kit which included this hand cream from Burt’s Bees. Y’all, this is one of the best hand creams I’ve ever used. It’s so moisturizing and my hands love it! Not to mention, the smell of almond oil is one of my favorite light scents. I need to find this hand cream ASAP, because I miss it so much!

LUST-HAVE LSIT: July 2022 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy July! June was insane for so many reasons and most of those reasons weren’t good. As for July, I’m ready! I finally put in to take week off, which I mostly plan to do nothing. LOL However, I will be making another quick trip to Dallas for a couple of days. I’m hoping to actually spend time being a tourist this time, because the first/last time I went was June of 2020. Needless to ay, I was not interested in being around a lot of people during that time. Plus, Texas had just issued mask mandates the day I got there.

Still, I’m excited for the trip and the week of doing nothing and not stressing about what’s going on at work. In my previous position, my anxiety would not let me enjoy my days off fearing that my responsibilities weren’t being handled correctly. Now that those are no longer my responsibilities, I can actually enjoy my off days now. I have some overdue appointments and tasks that I hope to complete that week.

Keep reading to see the list of items that I’m wanting this month. 🙂

LUST-HAVE LIST: July 2022

  • Framed Dinner Print – Finally about to work on my dining space and decide that I want to have a wall full of images related t eating and dining. I got the idea from this print I spotted on Society6.
  • Rare Beauty Liquid Blush in Grateful – I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Rare Beauty liquid blush. So, I’m dying to try it and this pink color looks to give a natural flushed look.
  • Strappy Clear Low Heel Sandals – It’s hard to find a strappy clear sandal that doesn’t give stripper vibes, but this pair from JustFab is perfect. Plus, I know my ankles and knees will appreciate it.
  • Plus Size Super Flared Jeans – I’ve been wanting a pair of super flared jeans, because they will work better with my straight hips. This pair from ASOS appears to be just what I want – simple and classic.
  • Affordable 6 Drawer Dresser – Recently came to the conclusion that I need a dresser. The wire shelving units in my closet aren’t as functional as I need. Love the clean design of this dress from Walmart and the price is nice, too.
