Go-To Walking Gear | STAINED COUTURE

A few years ago, I became an avid walker. I was so into walking almost everyday, that there were some almost 100 degree days that I was out there. To be transparent, I started walking for mental purposes. I was deep in my feelings about things going on in my life at the time, which included learning my new normal after COVID. I had read that taking walks was a good way to help improve your mood and health, of course.

Recently, I’ve been craving daily walks again, but this time to help with my help. I’ve been so stressed and it’s beginning to affect my health.  Therefore, I started going on more walks, with the intent to make them daily; weather permitting.

I need my bluetooth headphones when I go walking, because helps me zone out. I zone out so much that I end walking longer than I think. Personally, I prefer headphones over earbuds, because it gives off the impression that I don’t want to be disturbed. This is especially needed when I decide to stop by the gym in my apartments.

Since I do walk with earphones, my best friend made sure I always have a safety device. I have a sound making device that’s also a stun gun. Plus, it’s cute! 😀

It should be obvious that you need good pair of shoes when walking. I have a pair that I walk and live in, but they are getting too big for me as I’ve lost weight. I’ve been doing research and the Brooks Ghost 15 seem like a winner for me and my needs.

When I first started at my current job, I use to have to be on my feet for extended time. This caused me to start experiencing pain in my feet and need arch support. I wear arch support bands, but  insoles for arch support is better for when I’m walking. Insoles for arch support not only support my arches, but help keep me balanced when I walk on uneven terrain.

One of the best purchases I made recently was this flat fanny pack. It lays flat against my waist, but holds my keys, safety device, and my ID. I also use this as a crossbody on days when I need to run errands, but it’s mostly used for carrying stuff when I’m on my hot girl walk. Love it so much!

LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2024

LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2024

LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2024 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy May! I know the Lust-Have List for May is over a week late, but your girl has been busy. Work and life have been jumping me every other day. So much so, the dates have been sliding in and out of my calendar. Thankfully, I’ve been working hard to get everything back on track.

You may be able to tell my the items in this month’s Lust-Have List, but I’m ready for summer. Spring is one of my favorite seasons, but I didn’t get to enjoy it much. Therefore, I’m going to summer like I’ve never summer before! I’m not sure I want to take a vacation, but I have couple of ideas and even someone I’m thinking of going with ;)!

In the meantime, here are some things I’ve been eyeing lately.

LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2024

  • Woven Natural Tote – I love a good natural wicker purse, especially with contrasting brown leather.
  • Gut Detox & Cleanse book – For the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to focus more on gut health. A documentary I recently watched has mad me want to step it up. I think this book is great starting point to learn more.
  • Tinted Red Lip Oil – I already have and love this lip oil in pink quartz, which is a nice natural pink lip. However, I can’t pass you a cherry lip oil, which means I need this one, too.
  • Poolside Terry Shorts – In the past, I would only wea shorts to immediately put on before and after the pool to avoid showing my legs. Now, I don’t care and wear almost everyday in the summer. I would love to add these terry shorts to the rotation this summer.
  • Chunky Black Birkenstocks -If there was one shoe that I think I could live in all summer, it would be these chunky Birks. I’m obsessed!

EMPTIES: March 2024 | STAINED COUTURE

EMPTIES: March 2024

EMPTIES March 2024 | STAINED COUTURE

I love primers; no matter the season. I picked up this Milani Chill Out primer awhile ago, but just got around to using it up. This primer is thick like a silicone prime, but it’s silicon-free. Although it’s not a sticky, it did help keep my makeup in tact for most of the day. Also, helped blur out pore and other skin imperfections. This a really good drugstore primer and will absolutely buy it again.

The Glossier You scent is one of my faves, because it just smells so good! The first time I smelled was spraying the tester in Sephora while waiting for my online order. It didn’t initially blow me away. So, I didn’t pick it up. However, I sprayed some of it on the wrist of my sweatshirt and kept wondering what smelled so good. After about an hour, I realized it was the Glossier perfume. I’ve always received compliments when I would have it on. It’s a warm clean scent or iris and pink pepper.

My only gripe is that it doesn’t last long, which everyone says. However, they offer it in a solid version, which I hear helps it last a little longer when worn with spray version. I’ll pick them both up next, because I love this scent!

I know this is going to sound weird, but I was addicted to the way Care.e.on hand sanitizer smelled. This sanitizer comes in their Essentials Travel set, but oh how I wish it was available for individual sell.

Another product that I bought a long time ago, but just got around to using up. A clear sign that say that I’ve had this for so long is that they even sell this in pear anymore. I probably picked the pear because it reminded of the pear body lotion that I used to be addicted to in my teens. Nostalgia gets me every time!

Have you tried any of the items from this EMPTIES post? Thoughts are always appreciated.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2024 | STAINED COUTURE

It’s April and despite a few rainy days here and there, April is usually lovely month to enjoy. The weather is nice and makes you just want to be out in the sun and catch a good breeze here and there. It’s almost time hanging out on the patio after work and going to local farmer markets on the weekend. I can’t wait to enjoy this season ; rain or shine!

I’m so ready for this month and all the things that come with it. The items in this month’s Lust-Have List might give an insight into any plans. However, it does show you how I want to look. So, take a look at the things I’m currently wanting in this month’s Lust-Have List.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2024

  • Herbivore Nova Vitamin C serum – I recently noticed that my skin has been looking dull then remembered I never replaced my vitamin C serum. However, I want to try this new one from Herbivore, because I already use the eye cream from this line.
  • Chunky Gold Drop Earrings – I’ve been wanting to get into the large post earrings and this pair off Amazon would make gentle entrance into this style of earrings.
  • Short Sleeve Swing Tunic Mini Dress – It’s spring which means I’ve started to look for cute, easy dresses that I can try on for work or running errands. Love the look and of this dress from Anthropologie.
  • Mini Bucket Bag – If you know me, you know I love mini purses. Currently, I’ve been obsessing over the look of mini buckets, especially this one from Madewell.
  • Wide Leg Dad Pants – If I can’t spend everyday in a cute dress, then these wide leg dad pants will work just as well. The look so chic dressed up or down.
