LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2022

It feels so wild that it’s already May, but January feels like 10 months ago. Anyhow, I’m actually looking forward to this month, because I’m starting to actually make plans for the summer. I’ve already started to plan a couple of road trips and finally ready to start finding some furniture for my balcony. I want to lay out there and tan in peace. Actually, I need to look for a new swimsuit that actually fits my body.

Recently, I learned that I’ve been suffering from body dysmorphia for the past few years. This caused me to buy and wear clothes that are too big for me since I’ve lost some weight over the years. Not to mention, I know longer care what people think about how I look. If I feel good and comfortable, I don’t care what others think. Hopefully, everyone will reach this level of peace and big IDGAF energy. I love it here!

As for my wants this month, it’s screaming that summer is coming and I’m trying to be ready. So, here is my wishlist for May 2022 and I feel like I’m actually going to buy all these items this month.

LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2022

• Yitty Midi Shaping Bra – When Lizzo announced that she was going to drop a shapewear I knew there were going to be some items that I wanted. This midi shaping bra is at the top of the list. It not only helps smooth that diabolical back fat, but it comes in an array of colors. That will allow you to wear it as a tank or under a button up. That yellow one, tho?! *chef’s kiss*
• Animal Old Skool Leopard Print Vans – I was looking for some lace-up leopard print Vans, but I saw these first and that orange detail made me feel like these were the better choice.
• Le Mini Macaron Party Babe Gel Polish – Recently picked up a bright cherry version of this polish over the weekend and I love it. This neon yellow one needs to be mine ASAP. I love neon yellow polish!
• Distressed Denim Mom Shorts – Like I said, I don’t care what anyone thinks about me this summer and that includes my big legs. They need sun these shorts will help that happen.
• Oversized All Black Sunglasses – My oversized black sunglasses broke a couple of months ago. I miss then, which means I need to replace them.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2022

Sorry for the delay, but April started off a little hectic for me. For one, I started my new position at my job, which I’m super excited about. However, the first task of my position was to find and hire a new employee to take over some of my last responsibilities. Well, I found someone and they started on April 1st and I’ve been training them – so far so good.

Speaking of training, I’m ready to start going on my morning walks again. Last summer, I started going on morning (and some evening) walks to help with my mental health. I started with 15-20 minute walks around my neighborhood, but eventually started doing 30-45 minutes walks along a walking path in a near by park. All those inclines had my butt and legs starting to look right. I haven’t been walking since September and I think my body misses it. So, I’ve been trying to do daily stretches so that I can ease back into them. I’m excited and will hopefully start my walks in the next few days.

Another reason I think it’s time to go back walking is because the weather has been so nice. There have been some rain here and there, but those perfectly warm sunny days make you forget about those. So, the things I’m wanting this month are very spring and summer vibes. So, check out my wants in this month’s Lust-Have List.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2022

• Truly Black Jelly Blemish Treatment – I’ve been experiencing some breakouts on my body and want to give this Truly body serum a chance.
• Skinny Coach Wallet – I love the convenience of my key chain wallet, but I’m looking for something a little larger. Loving the thin, chic look of this wallet from Coach. Functional, but not bulky.
• Lace Up Sandals – Personally, I think every woman needs a strappy flat lace up sandal and these from Marc Fisher are perfect.
• Boxy Straw Tote – Spring means it’s time to break out the straw bags. The box shape of this bag is everything to me right now. I want it!
• Winky Lux pH Lip Balm – Still shocked I haven’t tried anything from winky lux, but this pH lip balm may have to be my first try.

LUST-HAVE LIST: March 2022

If you’re ready this, that means World War III hasn’t popped off, yet! So, welcome to March 2022! The weather has been feeling very springy and it has me getting hyped to get ready for warm weather. Since I am one purge to purge my closet regularly, my clothing options are becoming more and more bleak. So, some point this month, I will have to start buying new pieces. Also, I recently renewed my lease for another year – the increase was 10%, which is decent considering some of the horror stories of rent increases I’ve read. So, I’m ready to start doing some decorating in my place.

For the most part, my living room is pretty complete, but just missing some small details. However, my dining room is not a dining room, but instead a big bare space behind my sofa. As you will see, I think I’ve found a good dining room table to get the momentum going. After that, everything else will hopefully fall into place. LUST-HAVE LIST: March 2022

• Diablo Lashlift Starter Kit – In March of 2020, I was going to get my lashes lifted for the first time, but pandemic happened. I have sensitive eyes with straight lashes. So, I think a lash lift is better for me than lash extensions, which makes me glad that at-home lash lift kits are a thing. This one from Diablo has everything you need to lift your lashes at the house.
• Topicals High Roller Ingrown Hair Tonic – Since I have curly hair, I get ingrown hairs everywhere. So, this new roller tonic for ingrown hairs by Topicals is high on my list. I love what Topicals has been doing in the beauty space.
• DOCKSTA dining table – I’ve been eyeing circle tables that seat 4 and this one from IKEA seems perfect. At first, I was leaning towards the white version, but I think will work better for the vision I have for that area.
• Skin Gym LED Mask – I’m long overdue for a LED mask and I’m feeling this pink one from Skin Gym. I picture me laying in bed, scrolling TikTok while this mask attempts to work magic.
• Electric Maninure/Pedicure Set – During the pandemic I learned to do my own nails and bought a simple LED dryer and electric drill. However, I want to upgrade my tools and want to start with this gorgeous white and gold drill. Plus, it’s cordless! Getting it.

LUST-HAVE LIST: February 2022

Happy February! It’s Black History Month, the month of Love, and I’m sure some other things! However, I have some high hopes for this month, because I’m aspiring to live a life abundance. I know that sounds very “hotep”, but it’s true. Personally, I owe myself backpay for how hard I’ve been on myself over most of my life and it’s time to pay up. No better time like the present to get right with me for me.

In the meantime, here are some items I’ve been eyeing recently and need. Actually, I’m going to gift a couple of these things to myself as a Valentine’s gift to me. I mean, I love me and I need to start showing and proving that to myself. Keep reading to see the items I’m wanting this month, because all of them are worthy of my money.

LUST-HAVE LIST: February 2022

• 12 Tea Sampler Kit – I’m still on a hot tea kick and would love to try more brands and flavors. This tea sampler kit would allow me to do both.
• Nike 2022 Valentine’s Day AF1 – Never really been one to like pink shoes, but NIKE always gets it right. This is especially true for their Valentine’s Day collection – loving the embossed pink patent leather on this year’s AF1.
• Small Woven Crossbody – Although a lot of us currently buried or preparing to be buried under snow in the next couple of days, I’m so ready for spring weather and accessories, especially this small woven crossbody and it’s under a $100. Love it.
• KEYS Exfoliating Body Polish – Another reason I’m ready for spring is because winter has been drying my skin like crazy, including my body. So, I’m interested in trying this exfoliating body polish from Alicia Keys skincare line. Not only does it supposed to exfoliate the skin, but also moisturize it. We shall see.
• Heart Shaped Ceramic Vase – I’ve been eyeing this heart shaped vase for the past couple of weeks and I’m thinking about getting as V-Day gift to myself. I love unique home decor like this one. I’m kind obsessed TBH.

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2022

So…how has 2022 been treating you so far? As you may be able to tell how late this month’s Lust-Have List, my new year has started off a little hectic. However, I’m still striving and thriving with no intentions to let up. Better late than never is definitely my life motto and for 2022.

I always say that my December Lust-Have Lists are Christmas wishlists. Well, I guess I can consider the January Lust-Have List as a list of things I wish I got for Christmas. So, keep reading to see what I wish I got for Christmas a.k.a my January 2022 Lust-Have List.

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2022

• Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream – I’m in need of a good night cream and want to try a good drugstore night cream. When Olay released these cream a couple years ago, it was all over my social feeds. Since most, if not all, were paid promotions – I decided to give it a minute to try. However, the reviews are still pretty great and I’m ready to try it.
• Nesting Coffee Table – I’ve been eyeing this nesting coffee table from Ikea for the past few months. I told myself that I would buy it after the holidays, but it won’t be back in stock at my Ikea for another 2 weeks. As soon as I see it’s back, I’m going to go buy it.
• Vegan Leather Hoodie – I love casual pieces that can also be worn in more professional or not so lax settings. This vegan leather hoodies from Fabletics definitely works. Plus, it goes from sizes XXS-4X!
• White Hiker Boots – I’m obsessed with this boots! I might end up ordering this soon, because I have some JustFab credits. However, if these are as optic white as they appear online, I’m going to wear them non-stop.
