EMPTIED: January 2017

emptied january 2017

Over the past year, I’ve bought, tried, and hoarded a lot of beauty products. Recently, I decided that I wanted to try and use up as many as possible. Therefore, I’m bringing back my monthly list of items that I’ve emptied over the month, when applicable, of course. So, keep reading to see the products that used up this month!

emptied john frieda serum

In 2016, I became obsessed with skincare products and you will notice that the majority of products I used up were in the skincare category. However, the first product I finally used up was John Frieda Extra Strength Six Effects +Serum. This serum is formulated for thick, coarse hair to eliminate frizz and act as a heat protectant, as well. It is a pretty great serum. The only issue I had with this serum was the instructions called for you to use it on dripping wet hair. Personally, I’m not a fan of products that require dripping wet hair to work. I feel the product slides off my hair. So, for that reason, I rarely used this serum, because it was too annoying. However, once I applied it to my towel-dried hair and I was able to really see the effects. So, I might buy this again.

emptied nip+fab glycolic cleanser

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me mention that I was trying to use up the last remainder of Nip+Fab Glycolic cleanser. This cleanser was great at cleanser and smoothing my skin. I definitely feel this cleanser help improve the overall texture of my skin and I would buy this again. You can read more about my review of this cleanser here.

RoC Deep Wrinkle moisturizer

This RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle moisturizer is ah-mazing! It’s one of my favorite drugstore skincare products, because it has retinol. If you are into anti-aging products, then you already know the power of retinol. Plus, this moisturizer is very moisturizing and contains SPF 30. All the good stuff my skin loves and needs. I just ran out this yesterday and need to pick  up another tube ASAP. Also, I’m going to pick up the nighttime version, too.

valentia-night-revive-serum

Introducing skin serums into my skincare routines has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for my skin. My go-to nightly serum has been Valentia Night Revive Retinol serum. There are so many things that I love about this serum, especially the ingredients. All of the ingredients are natural, vegan, and organic. This serum also contains retinol and kept my skin plump and hydrated throughout the night. This another product that I would buy over and over again. You can read more about my experience using this serum here.

lancome visionnaire eye balm

I have a crap load of samples that usually collect dust, but I’ve been using them up in hopes to find a new love. I think I might’ve found a new love in Lancome Visionaire Eye Balm. Of the rip, this product is pricey, but I feel it’s worth it’s price. This eye balm acts as under eye cream that makes erases the look of puffy and tired eyes. After consistent wear, this balm claims to reduce the look of dark circles and wrinkles. I only used this as a nighttime under eye balm for a few weeks, but I’ve noticed that my under eye has been a little brighter. Can’t lie, I’m really contemplating on splurging and buying this eye balm this weekend. Treat yo’ self Saturday, maybe?
