ITEM OF THE WEEK is a weekly series on Stained Couture that highlights a product we’re currently loving. This week: The Body Shop Drops of Youth Essence Lotion
Don’t you love picking up something on whim and then find out it’s something you’ve been needing. Well, that’s how I feel about this Drops of Youth Essence lotion from The Body Shop.
A couple of weeks ago, I ran across this on sale at Ulta and decided to give it try. The main reason I decided to try it is because it was labeled as an “essence”. A few years ago, I tried a couple of essences, because they seemed so mystical. Afterwards, I did notice that my skin seemed to enjoy them.
Essences are light-weight and hydrating, which help prepare your skin for moisturizers. In the line of application, you apply essences after cleansing and/or toning and right before you serums. You can apply it via a cotton pad or round, but most skincare experts suggest you apply it by patting it into your skin with your palms. Plus, cotton pads and rounds can absorb and waste a lot of product.
The Drops of Youth essence is a gel-to-water formula that feels very luxe and soothing to the skin. This is especially appreciated after a long, hot summer day. After using The Body Shop’s Drop of Youth essence for a couple of weeks, I could tell that my skin looked more vibrant, plump, and dare I say, glowy. The texture of my skin felt softer and smoother, which is always a skincare goal. I mean, have you ever heard someone say that they want their skin to look dry and rough? I bet you haven’t.
You can purchase The Drops of Youth Essence lotion at The Body Shop’s website or at Ulta.
