Favorite Drugstore Shampoos for Curly Hair | STAINED COUTURE

In the summer, I try to wear my hair curly as much as possible and this summer has been no different. The heat has been unbearable and it’s been affecting my hair. I’ve been making sure that my hair has been hydrated and moisturized at all times, especially when curly. The most moisturizing shampoos are the ones formulated for curly hair. Curly hair tends to thicker and needs all the the moisture it can get. Therefore, these products are loaded with moisturizing and hydrating ingredients. Luckily, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on these shampoos, because you can find some of the best options in your favorite drugstore.

Keep reading to see my 5 favorite drugstore shampoos for curly hair.

The Flawless Curls from Tresseme is one of my favorite drug store lines formulated for curly hair. The Flawless Curls shampoo is hydrating and has good slip, as does the conditioner. Actually, I use the conditioner from this line as a co-wash or even a deep conditioner from time to time. However, this line is great if you mostly wear your hair curly and wash it 2-3x a week. If you have thick and/or curly hair, then washing your hair everyday is not ideal.

Next up Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo, which is formulated for dry hair. Although they have a line for curly hair, I find that the Miracle Moisture line is more moisturizing for my curl type. It’s super hydrating, which helps make detangling easier. Aside from also loving the smell, it makes my hair feel clean and smooth enough to forgot I haven’t conditioned it yet.

I recently picked up Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus shampoo, which I’ve used before. However, I keep forgetting about how much my hair loves it. It makes my curls way more manageable and defined – especially when combing or brushing after washing and conditioning. This is the shampoo I tend to use when I need to revitalize my curls after wearing my hair straight for an extended amount of time.  The cherry on top is that it smells really nice.

The Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Moisture & Shine shampoo not only moisturizers the hair, but also gives it a nice shine. I’m so glad that you can now pick up Carol’s Daughter at more accessible locations, but this shampoo is worth waiting for.

Finally, Head & Shoulders Royal Oil Moisture Boost shampoo is one of my favorite hair products that I’ve tried over the past couple of years. The first product I tried from this line was the Royal Oil scalp cream, which is *chef’s kiss* amazing. Therefore, I had a lot of confidence in this shampoo and it did not disappoint. Usually, when it comes to shampoos for curly hair, no-lather shampoos if the best option. However, this one has a creamy lather that cleanser and hydrates – including the scalp. So, this is ideal for the curly hair babes with dry scalp. It’s perfect!

Like most shampoos, these have matching conditioners, which I love. However, I tend to follow up with a deep conditioner formulated for thick, curly hair.
