eSTYLIST: Fall Uniform 2018

I’m just now getting used to cold mornings, warming my car up, and having to wear socks practically everyday. However, I’ve finally come to terms that I won’t be wearing flips flops anytime soon. Most seasons, I have a go-to outfit; usually mixing of simple pieces and casual accessories. Basically, I have a uniform each season and now it’s time for my fall uniform this year.

This season, I decided that I need to finally step away from my favorite go-to look of leggings, oversize tee, combat boots, and denim jacket. Instead, I want to go wit a slightly relaxed pair of blue jeans; not too dark or light. Although I still can’t turn away from a comfy tee, I will look for tees that are more formed tees and less oversized, stretched out options. Also, I want to move on from combat boots to more structured shoes and with a heel, which will make my insteps totally hate me. Finally, time to let my denim jacket get some rest and not wear it everyday. Instead, ovesized and cozy looking cardigans are my jam for this season. However, I will still reach for my denim jacket, just not as much.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: October 19, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy Friday, peeps! I have a had a roller coaster of a week. Therefore, I’m super excited that the weekend is here. Since I can feel the anxiety of the holidays approaching, I’m trying to find and use all the free time I can get to focus on my mental health. Although I’ve mastered the act of saying “no” as a complete sentence, sometimes I can still find myself being stretched out. Daily activities and responsibilities can be daunting. So, it’s important to know when to give yourself a break. It’s okay to use those personal and vacation days at work. It’s okay to change your mind the last minute for dinner plans. Mainly, it’s okay to be responsible for your sole happiness. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

This weekend, other than church tomorrow night, I will be mentally and physically recharging myself. So, my phone will be off for most of the weekend, FYI.

Here’s to a great fall weekend and stop by on Monday to see if I have an item that I love so much that I just have to share it with you.

IOTW: Dr. Jart Pore Minimalist Sheet Mask

ITEM OF THE WEEK is a weekly series on Stained Couture that highlights a product I’m currently loving. This week: Dr. Jart Pore Minimalist Sheet Mask.

ITEM OF THE WEEK: Dr. Jart Pore Minimalist Sheet Mask | STAINED COUTURE

In last week’s IOTW, I shared an overnight mask that helped us wake up with soft and dewy skin. This week, it’s all about one my favorite sheet masks. Personally, I feel like you can never have too many sheet masks. For the most part, most sheet masks cost less than a cup of coffee, which makes them easy to buy in bulk. Every time I pass a colorful display full of various sheets masks, I buy at least 3. I’m not a real stickler on the brands, because I mainly slap them on my face as minute moment of self-care while watching horrible reality TV and drinking wine. However, there is one sheet mask that I have to buy or order whenever I can, which is Dr. Jart’s Pore Minimalist sheet mask.

When it comes to skincare, if a product claims to help minimize the appearance of pores – I will probably buy it. That is how I first decided to buy this mask, because it  stated it was “ideal for” pimples and large pores. Basically, it was ideal for all the things I dislike about my skin. Not only did it help to instant minimize the appearance of my large pore, but helped to clean out excess oil and other pore-clogging yuckiness.

This sheet masks are great to use before doing your makeup for an event or when you know you will be taking pictures. Yes, this sheet is selfie-approved, because your skin will look extra flawless. Of course, these won’t make your pores smaller forever. However, if you use them one or twice a week, you might notice a change in the elasticity of your skin. Tighter and smoother skin? Yes, please and thank you.

These masks are available at Sephora, Sephora.com, and Dr. Jart’s website.

Have you tried this Pore Minimalist sheet mask from Dr. Jart? Thoughts?

LINK-END ROUND-UP: October 12, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week, I had another week that felt long. I’m starting to wonder if this is due to fall and the temperature starting to dip.

Speaking of temperatures dropping, I plan to spend part of my weekend getting my closet fall-ready. This involves me taking my denim jackets to the dry cleaner, moving my warmer clothes to the front of my closet, and moving my lightweight stuff to the back. I’ve been putting this on the back burner for weeks, because we were still having days in the 90s just this week. However, the forecast is showing no days over over 75 for the next week or so. Therefore, it’s time to get in fall formation, ladies.

Thankfully, work hasn’t felt overwhelming this week, which was great. One thing that I’ve been doing at work, which has helped my work days go by faster, is watching horror movies on Netflix while working. Sounds weird, but helped me worked better while not getting super scared while watching them. So, I’m planning to watch all the horror movies I can at work all month.

I hope you all have a chill and relaxing weekend. If you need something to do this weekend, it’s a great time to go to the pumpkin patch.

P.S. – Pray for those on the east coast dealing with hurricanes and tropical storms this weekend. Stay safe!
