LINK-END ROUND-UP: March 12, 2021 | STAINED COUTURE

Hey, Friday! Another long week in the books for ya girl. This week, I decided that I needed to work on my productivity, which hasn’t been that great as of recently. Actually, I’m sure that over the past year, everyone has seen an decline in their level of productivity and the results. However, since I was the only one in the office this week, it felt like a great time to try out some of go-to tips and try a few new ones. For the most part, it worked, but it really didn’t kick in until mid-week. Still, it worked and I will be able to test them out next week when I’m no longer the only one at work.

I don’t have anything planned for this weekend except to go find a new sofa. Actually, I’m looking for a nice size and comfy sectional, but not modern or pricey. After work on Wednesday, I stopped by a local furniture store to check out their selection. Unfortunately, since it was close to their closing time, I didn’t get to look and try that many. So, tomorrow, I’m going to visit another location to see their selections. In my mind, I know what I want, but I just have to find it and in my price range.

Other than sofa shopping, another chill weekend for me. I’m pretty much done unpacking and ready to start filling up my space to create my ideal vibe. I have so many decorating plans for this space and I can’t wait. Hope you all have a great weekend and check out this week’s Link-End Round-Up reads.

EMPTIES: February 2021

EMPTIES: February 2021

EMPTIES: February 2021 | STAINED COUTURE

So, yeah, about January 2021 empties. I did empty a few products, but they were mostly products I used up before. Therefore, I didn’t feel the need to post them. However, I have a feeling that I will be buying the one product that I hadn’t shared before and tell you about it. It was a good one!

However, let’s move on to the EMPTIES list for February 2021. As you can see in the photo above, I only used up 2 products. Keep reading to see why I only used up 2 products and my final thoughts on them.

As you may have recalled from my tardy Lust-Have List for this month, February was a bust. Out of the whole month, I think I only wore makeup once or twice and it was probably just brows and mascara. Since I wasn’t wearing makeup and in the middle of a move, I kept my skincare routines minimum. I mostly just used my maskne skincare routine and face oil at night. So, that’s why I only used up 2 products.

First, let’s talk about this Pacifica scalp detox serum. In the winter, I do experience more buildup on my scalp from products and just dry scalp from the cold. I usually use a scalp scrub, but I decided to try this scalp oil as an alternative. I tried to use it every other night, but failed. However, I did use a few times a week when I noticed my scalp had build up. Although I was expecting it to have a little tingling sensation due to the mint, it was very gentle.

In the end, this scalp detox oil could be great when used regularly and help maintain a clean scalp during wash days. I may buy it again, but I’ve become very diligent with making sure I wash my hair properly and cut back on applying products near my scalp. So, I don’t see me rebuying this anytime soon.

Over the last year, I’ve tried a few COSRX products and I’ve been a fan of all of them. The COSRX ABH/BHA clarifying toner is no different, because it came in handy. Initially, I ordered it to help keep my skin clear from the occasional breakouts I experienced. However, I eventually started to use it to help prevent maskne and spray it on my masks before wear. I read that spray a clarifying toner on the inside of your mask will help treat and prevent breakouts from masks. Needless to say, but I was shocked to say that this life hack worked!

I don’t wear face masks that much, because I don’t go anywhere. However, I will definitely buy this toner again when I need another clarifying toner for acne.

Happy March! My apologies for the tardiness, because I had every intention of posting this last week. However, the days would not ease up on me and I couldn’t keep up. Like they say, ‘”better late than never” and that’s the sword I’m falling on today.

Although I had plenty of hope for February, it was a flappity flop of a mess. So, I’m hoping March can come in here and act right, which it has been so far. Last month, despite it being the shortest month of the year, felt like the longest. Work was bonkers, trying to get some normalcy to my life was a fail, and then there was week of snowstorms right in the middle. Needless to say, I’m not looking back on last month, but I’m so grateful to see this month.

Since I barely survived February with my mental health still in tact, I’m dedicating March to getting right with myself. I’m focusing on things that bring me peace and (temporarily) putting some things to the side while I get me together. I just want to be a better me for me and I have no excuse as to why I can’t. So, that’s what I’m doing this month.

As for the things I’m wanting in this month’s Lust-Have List, they’re mostly things to make me and my new apartment cute and ready and ready for spring. I want everything!

LUST-HAVE LIST: March 2021

  • Good American Easy Denim Shirt – I feel every closet needs a easy denim shirt and this one looks and sounds perfect – even the name.
  • Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Serum – Recently, I started using the toner from this Glow Recipe line, because I love a good hydrating toner. I heard and saw that the toner combined with this serum makes your skin look all dewy and glowy. So, I need to find out for myself.
  • Nespresso Coffee Maker and Espresso Machine – My Keurig didn’t survive my recent move. Devastating, but this coffee maker and espresso machine hybrid would  make me feel so much better.
  • Steve Madden Tan Platform Wide Strap Sandals – A new, cute pair of platform tan sandals is my favorite way to spruce my wardrobe into spring mode. The only con to these is the wait time.
  • Target x Levi’s Aged Cooper Bar Cart – The new Target x Levi’s collection just dropped and I’m in love, especially with this wood and cooper bar cart. So, chic and would look perfect in my new apartment. I wish I could see it in-store first, but I really want to buy it today.

Happy Friday, friends! How was your week? Hopefully great and not as stressful as mine. This is my final Friday in the apartment that I’ve regretted moving to 2 years ago. A month after a I moved in there, my world started to turn upside down. Just as I was about to start getting settled in and buying new furniture – I was laid off from my job. That definitely wasn’t the ideal time to start buying new sectionals and electronics. So, I was never able to make that place into a home and decided that I wouldn’t sign my lease the following February.

Well, as February 2020 was approaching, so was the pandemic. Therefore, I decided to buckle in and sign another 1 year lease, but that was it. Now, one year later, I’m days away from moving into my new and newly renovated apartment. Of course, the process of moving is stressful and expensive, but it’s going to be so worth it.

This week, I secured a mover company and scheduled for  my utilities to be switched over. Now, all I have to do is update my renter’s insurance, do final walk through, and sign my lease. Oh, one more thing I need to so – start packing! I haven’t attempted to pack not one box. Luckily, I don’t have much to pack and have plenty of boxes. I just need to do it, which I will begin this weekend. Actually, I have no other choice but to do it this weekend, because I move on Wednesday. Okay, let me get on, because just thinking about having to all this in less than 5 days is giving me mad anxiety.

Here’s to a peaceful weekend and please enjoy this week’s Link-End Round-Up reads. OMG! It’s Valentine’s Day on Sunday!

Happy Friday! So, how did the first week of February treat you? Well, I spent most of the week trying to fight off a cold and I think I won. Of course, when you tell people that you are feeling a little under the weather, the first thought it Covid-19. However, I was confident that it was due to the the flip flopping weather and being caught in the rain last weekend. Thankfully, with the help of hot tea and Theraflu, I was able to fight it off.

As for this weekend, a have to work on tomorrow, but it’s also Superbowl Sunday! It definitely doesn’t feel like Superbowl Sunday weekend due to the pandemic. However, I can’t stress this enought – don’t go to any Superbowl parties! It’s not worth, because it’s just the Buccaneers and Chiefs playing ;/. I could less about who wins. Personally, I plan to finally start packing up my stuff that I don’t see me needing in the couple of weeks. So, it will mostly be books, some dishes, and clothes not in season. FYI, I’m not looking forward to this, but it as to be done.

Have a great weekend and don’t be out hitting up Superbowl parties; we’re in a pandemic.
