Link-End Round-Up is Stained Couture’s weekly series that features interesting things I read around the web this week.
This weekend is Mother’s Day and for the first time since my mom passed away, I’m not dreading it. Listen, when you loose a parent, it sucks around holidays. It especially sucks around Mother’s Day and/or Father’s Day, depending on the parent that’s gone. However, each year and special occasion gets easier. I hope that quick word helps someone.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been sponging up so much information. The topic that I’ve been researching is money, but mostly how to get more and keep most of what I get. Thankfully, I’m not in financial dire straits, but I do have goals that requires me to spend wisely. I feel like I need to brush up on my budgeting skills. I’m a borderline pro at budgeting my necessities, but I need to work on the other stuff like personal and self care. I’ve been playing around with my Mint app, which is super helpful. However, I’ve been going over my coffee shop budget. Those morning iced soy vanilla lattes are adding up. Since I get paid tomorrow, I’m going to calculate some things and try to master my budget. Wish me luck!
I hope you all have a lovely Mother’s Day weekend and if you are a mother, Happy Mother’s Day!!
LINK-END ROUND-UP: May 11, 2017
This Sunday is Mother’s Day, the one day when we shower our mother’s with the love and appreciation. However, we should do this everyday, because we are the reason their hair goes grey. Well, that’s what my mom used to tell me. This will be the third Mother’s Day without my mom, but my siblings and I use this day to go place flowers on her resting place. Also, we use this time to pick and joke with each other, because that’s what would do when all of us were together with her. It’s our thing. Afterwards, we have a family Mother’s Day dinner to attend. I’m also going to use this dinner to break out this floral dress that I haven’t worn, yet. I bought it from Macy’s a couple of months ago, but it’s too pretty for work and opted for floral pants for Easter. Plus, a floral dress is perfect for Mother’s Day dinner or Mother’s Day brunch.
For this eStylist look, I decided to create a look around a floral dress that’s pretty similar to mine. Pairing floral prints with nude accessories helps keep the attention on the dress.

I hope you and yours have a Happy Mother’s Day!
A couple of months ago, I had a less than average wax job at a wax bar by a big makeup brand in a bigger makeup store. If you know the players in that sentence, please know that I still love those brands. However, they did your girl and her brows wrong this one Saturday. However, my brows and I were able to regrow and prosper again thanks to patience and one product. That product is Jamaican Black Castor oil.
I decided to try it on my brows and voila, brows are back! Jamaican Castor Oil has been a blessing to my life for the past couple of years. Trust me, this oil has helped me with more that my brows and probably for you, too. There are so many benefits to this oil and I’m going to share a couple of my favorites with you.
Aside from being a great mother, my mom was also an easy person to give gifts. Although she loved receiving flowers for Mother’s Day, she much preferred practical things as gifts. Usually, she already knew what she wanted. However, for those times that she “didn’t care”, my safe bet gift was her favorite perfume and a Mother’s Day gift baskets.
The great thing about gift baskets is that they tend to be filled with things that they receiver can use or eat. If you would like to give your mom a basket full of delicious treat and/or useful items, keep reading to see my suggestions.
