Skincare Products To Try Now

skincare_to_try_now

Every so often, I get the urge to indulge and play guinea pig to some new beauty products. As you might remember, a few months ago, I was all about buying and trying different foundations. Before that, I was obsessed with finding the mythical “perfect primer”. Now, ladies (and some gents), I’ve become fixated on skincare products.

This latest fixation may or may not be in part to me wanting to obtain perfect skin for those lazy days when I just can’t get the energy to slap on a few layers of makeup and seize the day. Still, I’m itching to try some new skincare for those self-imposed, but completely deserved lazy days.

So, here are some beauty/skincare products that I’m yearning to try…NOW!

  • Stila One Step Correct – A 3-in-1 serum with that moisturizes, tones, and primes to achieve to look of perfect skin…with or without makeup.
  • Bliss Triple Oxygen Facial In A Box – Facials are everything and my current bi-weekly luxury. However, they can get a little pricey. So, giving my self a bliss facial…for only $12 a pop is more than reasonable.
  • Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask – Pumpkin Enzymes are great for exfoliating and treating dull and aging skin.
  • Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge – The change in weather is causing my combo skin to be more on the dry side and look dull. So, I’m very intrigued by this brush that not only cleanses the skin, but also exfoliates and hydrates the skin.
  • Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser – I love a good melting cleanser. The feel of the makeup dissolving and gently sliding off your face is one of the most amazing, self-indulgent things you can do in the bathroom.

Make-Up Monday…Stila Luxe Eye Shadow Palette

The holiday collections are here or at least on the way out the door. One item from Stila’s 2012 Holiday collection that I’m itching to get my hands on is their Luxe Eye Shadow palette, which I tested this weekend. The colors are gorgeous and look perfect for the holiday season. The colors are buildable, velvety smooth, and overall….very luxe. I became instantly enamored with this palette.

LUST-HAVE LIST: May 2012

I can almost feel and smell summer. One reason I can tell, other than the abundance of graduation invites and me frequently blasting my AC in the car, is the number of music festivals about to begin. I guess you can say Coachella started them off (I’m still freaking out over that Tupac halogram…eekk!) I’m going to Memphis Beale Street festival this weekend myself, to do a little people watching and music listening. Fun times. Either way…Hey, May!!!

Here are some of the things that I’m lusting for this month.

  1. Dooney & Bourke Florentine Crossbody, $158, Nordstrom – This weekend and most weekends to be honest, the last thing I’ve been wanting to grab is my big bag du jour, because it tends to leave me with just one free hand to hold a drink, phone, money, and other stuff as I try to enjoy the life. So, a crossbody will be my best friend this weekend and probably a plethora of other carefree days this summer and I’m really loving the sleek, colorful, and utilitarian style of this one from Dooney & Bourke thanks to the zippered pockets, yes, POCKETS! Sometimes you need more than one compartment on a small purse. So, kudos, Dooney & Bourke!
  2. Stud Shoulder Sweat, $68, TopShop – I’ve been obsessed with crop tops and thin sweat shirts. So, this is pretty much an ultimate piece to find and the studs are cherries on top. The blushy rose color is lovely and not too dark for spring and summer.
  3. Jordan Retro 10 Stealth, $149.99, Finish Line – Yep, I’m still in sneaker mode and my fondness for Jordans is back as if I was still in junior high begging my dad to get me all the Concord colorways, especially the white and Carolina blue pair, which I hear will be re-released this winter. YAY!! Anyway, I want these and plus I do need a pair of black high tops and why not get the best?!
  4. Charles Albert Solid Hammered Bangles, $135, Shopbop.com – Hammered gold bangles for the summer? YES!! I’m loving these from Charles Albert and so did Keri Hilson who was recently spotted wearing them. They will go with practically any and every thing. Love.
  5. Passion Fruit Crush Lip & Cheek Stain, $24, Stila – When it comes to make up in the hotter the months; the less the better! Also, I’m REALLY into peach anything right now, including make-up. From Essie’s Tart Deco on my nails to random peach hued lippies cluttering up my makeup bag, I’m loving peach and would love to include this lip/cheek stain from Stila in the peachy keen fun.
  6. Mossimo Pocket V-Neck Tees, $8, Target – I want this shirt in every shade they make! I already have it in white, grey, and peach, of course(read above.) However, I have a feeling that I’m going to need them all, because they are comfy, chic, and perfection. This pastel purple one? I needed it..like….YESTERDAY!

There you have it, some things I’m lusting for this wonderful month of May. What about you? What do you need/lust for this month? Share…PLEASE?!?!?!

LUST-HAVE LIST: October 2010

It’s already October?! This year is just zipping by and the cool breezy fall weather is just reaching my neck out the woods. Yippee!

Keep reading to see the things that I’m lusting for in October!

  • A. Origins GinZing eye cream, $29.50, Origins.com – I’ve been obsessed with eye cream lately. I feel like my under eye area is not as bright as it used to be and want to get rid of that before  it gets worse. I’ve read some pretty amazing reviews about this eye cream and the fact that it has caffeine and ginseng. Sounds like a punch of energy for the eyes, without leaving a nasty bruise.
  • B. Jeffrey Campbell Fang Black Razor Sharp Pumps, $121, Lulu’s – Fall is the perfect season for leather mules, because not matter if its a cool or warm fall day they work. These JB pair are described more as a shoe that looks like a mule, but I don’t care. They look sexy, yet practical for any fall outfit.
  • C. Claw Money The Shopper Tee, $45, Karmaloop – Cropped big boxy tees have been my guilty pleasure on the weekend. Although they provide absolutely NO SHAPE, they make up for it comfort and edge. This shopper tee  that plays off of Bloomingdales iconic brown bag is practically begging for me to add it to my closet. I just imagine pairing it with a shrunken cardigan and skinnies.
  • D. Madison Patent Sophia Satchel, $358, Coach – Coach has really been impressing with their higher end bags, especially the Sophia satchel. Plus, it’s hard for moi to not fall for a deep red patent leather bag that would add so much life to any fall outfit.
  • E. Brush Set Essentials, $28, Stila – Makeup brushes. *Deep sigh* I’ve been buying so many in different styles, sizes, and prices that it’s too ridiculous to mention. I told myself that I was through buying them for awhile. Well, that was before Stila sent out the email about their Holiday 2010 collection, which includes these brushes. I love the metallic pink and black contrast and they would look and fit perfectly with my others. BEAUTY BONUS: You get all 5 for $28!
