It’s hard to believe that the first day of fall is tomorrow. Maybe it’s hard to believe because the weather has been very stubborn about giving us any type of cool weather. However, my yard is slowly getting filled with fallen leaves and my car has condensation on it every morning, which are clear indications that fall is here. When every season changes, my morning routine seems to follow suit and I’ve already adapted to a fall morning routine. So, thought I would share it with you this morning.

REVISITING: Revlon Colorstay Foundation
I’m in the middle of declutter some spaces in my home, including my make-up area, which has gotten overwhelming. During the process, I decided to throw away all the foundations I haven’t and don’t plan to ever use again. Unfortunately, that only left me with an almost empty bottle of a foundation that is beginning to look a little too dark on me, because my summer tan is slowly leaving me. Therefore, I did decide to take this time to revisit a foundation from my past that I used and loved, but hadn’t used in years. I decided to revisit Revlon’s Colorstay Foundation in Combination/Oily, because you know, I have oily skin. After using this foundation for a couple of weeks now, I’ve noticed a couple of new things compared to when I originally used this as my everyday foundation years ago and decided to share. Gather around!
Oily Skin Make-Up Staples
As a person with oily skin, I know firsthand how tedious and tricky it can be to find and try the right products to use, especially make-up. Over the past decade (or two), I’ve tried numerous skincare and make-up products that are formulated for oily skin. Some of the oily skin make-up products that I’ve tried have been major busts while some have been beyond amazing.
When you have oily skin, you should look for make-up that is formulated to give you a oil-free and matte look. So, I decided to list the products that I think would help those with oily skin create a flawless and shine-free make-up routine. These products are some of my all-time favorites and a couple of them are products I will probably use for the rest of my life.
Max Factor is Back
After being wiped off of US drugstore make-up shelves 6 years ago, Max Factor cosmetics is making it’s return the American market with a small selection of items, including their Masterpiece Max mascara and Masterpiece Precision Liquid Eyeliner.
Beauty Uses for Petroleum Jelly
Growing up, petroleum jelly was a staple in every medicine cabinet and a top of every dresser in my house and probably yours, as well. Aside from using it as an aid for minor scraps and cuts, my parents would slather that thick and heavy product over our bodies to remove any sign of dry, ashy skin. After shower Vaseline rub down will always hold a place in my memory bank. Despite the heaviness and super glossy look, it was an effective at making sure our skin wasn’t dry.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been experiencing some intense dry areas; mainly on my feet. The heels of my feet have been dry and I feel like I’ve tried every cream, oil, and treatment in my house to no avail. Even a pedicure didn’t help. I was super confused on what could I use to help get rid of these cracked heels so I can wear my sandals with confidence. Somehow my mind dragged me back to my childhood and all those post-bath Vaseline rubdowns my mom would give me to combat dry skin all over my body, including my feet. So, I decided to take a chance and try some old-school petroleum jelly to help cure my current day cracked heels and I’m so glad I did.
