ITEM OF THE WEEK is a weekly series on Stained Couture that highlights a product we’re currently loving. This week: Weleda Skin Food

ITEM OF THE WEEK: Weleda Skin Food | STAINED COUTURE

I just realizes that I’ve been doing Item of the Week for a little over a year. Kind of mind-blowing, because it doesn’t feel like I’ve been doing this for that long. Can you remember the first item I included? Here’s a hint!

So, this week’s Item of the Week is long overdue for a couple of reasons. One reason is because it’s been a minute since I’ve shared an item of the week. The other reason is because I’ve been using, abusing, and loving Weleda’s Skin Food for far too long to not have given it the spotlight it deserves. So, keep reading to see all the reasons this product has been rocking my world.

Weleda’s Skin Food is an intensely rich moisturizer that’s great for dry, rough skin. However, they do have a lighter formula, but I’m all about this thick, creamy formula. Skin Food has been such a gem to me and my skin during this extended cold winter. Although I initially bought it for my hands, I kept finding other ways to use this.

For the nights when I use active ingredients, acids, and other skin drying products, I use this in conjunction with my night cream or solo. It’s so rich and hydrating that I would wake up to soft and supple skin. Plus, a little goes a long way, in terms of hydrating. A dime-size amount will do the trick, trust me!

I don’t use this as a night cream every night, but I do use it to hydrate my lips every night. Actually, this is my favorite product to use for lip basting, which has helped my lips so much. I also massage some on my feet each night with an emphasis on my heels and cuticle. My feet have been soft all winter. Summer bodies aren’t the only things made in the winter. Sandal ready feet are, too!

I feel like Weleda’s Skin Food should be a staple in every medicine cabinet, purse, desk drawer, and anywhere else you keep moisturizer. Weleda’s Skin Food is available in 2 sizes; 1 fl oz. and 2.5 fl. oz.. You can also purchase it on Weleda website, Target, Whole Foods, and other retailers. Personally, I prefer to buy mine at Whole Foods instead of Target, because the ones at Target comes in a plastic tube. Whereas, the one from Whole Foods comes in the flexible metal tube. I love the classic feel!
