Link-End Round-Up October 13, 2017

Happy Friday the 13th! I’m not really into Halloween, except for the candy. However, when Friday the 13th falls in October, I feel obliged to dedicate the day to watching the first 3 Friday the 13th movies. In my opinion, all the versions after 3 are lame, but that’s just my opinion. Actually, I have a bridal shower to go to tonight that completely skipped my mind until this very moment. I guess I’ll have to postpone my Friday the 13th binge-fest until afterwards.

I’m actually looking forward to tonight, because this week has been mad stressful. Everything thing from personal stuff, work stuff, and car stuff has been stressing me out all week. I’m shocked I haven’t had a mild stroke of developed a slight addiction to recreational drugs after this week. However, I took some time to myself yesterday to meditate and do some deep prayer. I can’t lie, for a minute, I felt my faith weaken for a moment. That can happen sometimes when it seems “bad” things are happening back to back. However, like my Instagram bio says, God’s got my back. So, I know everything is going to work out for the best. I mean, things could be a lot worse.

I would love to find the time this weekend to go get a massage. Honestly, I feel I deserve one. If you deserve one, too, go get one. Treat yo’ self, sis! So, have an amazing weekend and see you next week!

eSTYLIST: Chilly Fall Day

I woke up today feeling torn. I couldn’t get some (rare) cute pictures I took this weekend to upload. Something about them being corrupt and other blah. So, I have to retake them. However, I also woke up to a forecast that features cool temperatures with a chance for sun later in the day. Needless to say, the latter helped me get over the previous emotions. Also, it looks like this cool weather is here to stay. *quick office chair twerk* So, I decided to share a chilly fall day eStylist post. Hopefully, I can finally stop dressing like I’m stuck between summer and fall.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: October 6, 2017

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up Octrober 06, 2017

Finish the first week of October 2017 strong? Check.

One of the things I love about October is that it’s the final quarter of the year and the feeling of “now or never” starts to sink in me. I always feel like I work better under pressure. In college, there were plenty of times that I wrote an A+ paper the day before it was due. Don’t get me wrong, I looked and felt like crap when I turned it in, but those papers looked beautiful. Therefore, I thrive in “back against the wall” moments.

This month, I’ve challenged myself to a couple of things. One thing I challenged myself is to no fast food. I hope to accomplish a few things from this challenge; save more money, eat healthier, and to stop looking for the easy way out of a everyday need. This year, I got real comfortable doing a lot of things that shouldn’t be doing. So, that needs stop.

As for this weekend, I finally have a weekend when I don’t have anything to do, other than go to church. This lazy weekend is much needed, because last month stretched me all over the place. I don’t know when I did what last month, including my birthday. I need a drink, a nap, and to be left alone; in that order. Not to mention, all these horrible situations that have been happening. It’s time to chill and recharge my mind, body, and soul.

In the meantime, I hop you have a great weekend and find some moments to be like the fall weather and chill.

LUST-HAVE LIST: October 2017

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

Lust-Have List October 2017

Here in Memphis, it sometimes takes a little longer for it to feel and look like fall. However, this weekend, it was fall and I’m here for it. For the past couple of months, I’ve been aspiring to be a little more “out there” and “extra”. I pretty much want to step outside my comfort level, which probably won’t last long. October seems like a perfect month to try something new, before you have to focus on all the annual holidays and festivities.

So, I’m starting my October feeling a little fearful, but optimistic that I’m going to learn some stuff. I love learning new stuff, especially when it’s new stuff about me. Anyway, keep reading to see the list of items I’m currently crushing on for this month.

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up September 29, 2017

This is the last LERU for the month of September and I can’t help to realize that this year speeding to the finish line. However, it’s officially my favorite time of the year; fall. The long awaited cool front finally landed here in Memphis yesterday, which meant the highs are in the lower 80s instead of mid-90s. The forecast shows that the temperatures are going to have me reaching for my light cardigans and dig out my combat boots in the next week or so. I can’t wait!

As you might’ve read, my birthday was this past Tuesday and I spent it doing nothing, but finally finishing Game of Thrones and responding to birthday wishes from friends and family. My favorite way to spend my birthday is to be left alone on the actual day. The day before and after is when I celebrate it by letting my peeps treat me to dinner, which I did a couple of times. I also scheduled my much needed nail appointment for the day after, as well. The life and preference of an introvert.

This weekend, tomorrow actually, I have a packed day. I have plans to meet up with some friends for breakfast and maybe some light shopping in the morning. In the afternoon, I have an annual family fish fry to go to, because you know, I’m in the south. Afterwards, I have a bridal shower to attend. I’m already a little tired from just thinking about tomorrow.

Anyway, I hope you all have an amazing weekend filled with fun and fall temperatures.
