TIPSY THURSDAY: Punta Cana Cocktail | STAINED COUTURE

Although the first day of Fall is this weekend, I’m not sure if I’m ready to give up all the great stuff from summer. One thing I’m still leaning on are fruity, tropical drinks that remind me of  a tropical getaway. One drink that screams “You should be on a beach sipping me!” is the Punta Cana cocktail. Punta Cana is named after a popular resort town in the Dominican Republic.  Made with rum, passion fruit juice, and lemon juice; the Punta Cana is the tropical getaway we all deserve in the form of a drink. All I want to do is lay on a beach, curly hair in the breeze, and sipping on this drink right about now.

Keep reading to see how to makes this easy drink and enjoy it while welcoming in fall on Saturday.

Link-End Round-Up: September 14, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy Friday! Well, this weekend crept up on your girl. I spent most of the week being a emotional wreck thanks to “Aunt Flo” being in town. However, homegirl has left and it’s back to business. The business for this weekend is to take my sister to go a car seat, because my upcoming nephew might be making an early arrival. So, I did say that I would buy a car seat as a baby shower gift and I’m already not looking forward to it. I don’t mind buying cute little outfits and some diapers, but when it comes to the cribs, strollers, and car seats? Oh, I’m not in the mood, but I will have to be this weekend. #Pray4Me

Another thing I want to start this weekend is decorating for fall. Many people don’t know this about me, but I love decorating my home for fall. I don’t even enjoy decorating for Christmas as much as I enjoy decorating for Fall. The main reason I enjoy it so much is because it mainly involves me creating cozy nooks and warm scented candles. I just love it so much!

Here’s to a lovely weekend in preparation for amazing week! Let’s chat some more next week.

Happy Friday! I hope your first week of September? Well, mine was all over the place. So much so, my M.O. for this weekend is chill vibes with an occasional moment of fun compliments of Southern Heritage Classic tailgating tomorrow. Last weekend, my anxiety and I didn’t feel like partaking in any football festivities, but we won. The game was over by half-time and ended with a blowout. So, I didn’t miss out on anything.

On another note, I’ve noticed how tired I’ve been and I haven’t been drinking as much water I used to/ should be drinking. So, I think I’m going to make a couple of gallons of my favorite lemon, cucumber, and mint detox water this week. The detox water usually does a good job of helping me “clean” myself out and give myself a much needed restart. I’ve also been thinking about trying keto, but I’m still in the research phase. I research the heck out of major life changes before I take the plunge, but it also helps prepare me. We’ll see!

Here’s to a lovely weekend and the fact that summer is almost officially over. So, enjoy these last weekends of summer, because it will begin to actually feel like fall sooner than later.

LUST-HAVE LIST: September 2018

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

LUST-HAVE LIST: September 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy September! As I mention every Lust-Have List for September, this is pretty much my birthday wishlist since my birthday is on the 26th. I’m going to be 37 this year and can believe that I’ve been on this earth for over 36 years. Like….WTF?! Although I’m not one to make a big “thing” about my birthday, this year I feel like I want to do something. Maybe grab lunch with a girlfriend or 2 and drinks that evening after they get off from work. Yeah, I’m not coming to work on my birthday, because I still have a few personal days to burn through.

Here are the items that I’m wanting this month.

LUST-HAVE LIST: September 2018

  • Cosrx Triple C Lightening Liquid Vitamin C Serum – I need to step my Vitamin C serum game up. Adding Vitamin C products to my skincare regimen really improved the appearance of my skin years ago. Unfortunately, it’s been a while since I’ve added a product to my skincare routines. I read great reviews about this Corsx Vitamin C serum and I plan to give a whirl.
  • Venessa Arizaga Starlight Earrings – I live for a good pair of hoops and statement earrings. This pair of earrings is a perfect hybrid of my 2 fav earring styles.
  • Side Button Midi Dress – I can never enough of dresses, especially in the fall. I’m lowkey obsessed with this overall, fitted midi dress and the side buttons. This can totally be worn all year.
  • Romi Cage Sandals – I want these purely off the fact that they look similar to the pair of shoes I wore to my 9th grade graduation, except those were white and the heel was square. These sandals would look sick with patterned tights or fancy sheer socks.
  • Vinyl City Bag – The clear bag trend is still going strong and will into fall. However, I think a smokey clear bag this one from Zara is more fall-friendly. Plus, I love the plaid pouch that comes with it.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: August 31, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy Friday and last day of August! I’m still in a little awe that tomorrow is will be September, which is also my birthday. Like I’ve mentioned countless times, I’m not one of those people that are really into their birthdays. I hate being the center of attention and making a big deal out of things related to me. So, although I acknowledge my birthday month, don’t expect me to mention it all the time.

This week was a drag for me, because I had a hard time getting focused and be productive. I took a personal day on Wednesday to have a day when I can be productive, but not responsible. For example, I drove 20 minutes away to pick up a B-day gift for the BF, but also binge most of the final season of Quantico. I also ate all day, but it was mostly healthy food and I had some intense bouts of being active. A total yen and yang day, but it was needed.

Although fall is still less than a month away, I feel like this will be the first weekend where it actually feels like fall. Not only are Pumpkin Spice Latte, but also football. Although I’m not a major fan of either, I did order a tall PSL on Wednesday and I will be partaking in a little college football this weekend. I might even hit up a tailgate or 2. We’ll see! Plus, it’s going to be a 3-Day weekend, because Monday is Labor Day. So, no work on Monday and I might even try to light up the grill for some hit dogs and smoked wings. YUM!

Well, here’s to a lovely weekend and let’s chat some more next week.
